I think Russia can be a good counter punch team and they can exploit your openings in a hurry. They attack the middle of the ice well. If Askarov can hold on to get Russia the lead.. they will be tough to come back on.

Who knows maybe the US will get a couple PPs early and not look back..

I was thinking that since Knight let in 2 goals in 9 shots in the Finland game that they might start Wolf.

I think there's a big enough difference in talent there that barring a couple bad performances that mean something or an injury Wolf's only appearance will be against Austria, and I really like Wolf. Knight is probably the best goalie in this entire age group(Askarov is a year behind) so I don't expect an exhibition performance to change anything.

I wouldn't be so sure about the big difference in talent. Wolf did after all win Goalie of the Year in the CHL for the 2019-2020 season.

Knight is significantly better in every department in my opinion. I will be very annoyed if he is backing up in any of the big games.

I am not worried about the pre- tournament game given his track record and talent.

I think Wolf is arguably the third best goalie in this tournament, but I think there's a big gap between 1-2 and everyone else. Knight should absolutely start this game. If we need to reevaluate at some point in this tournament we can do that, but Knight has earned the right to start.
