I think hip checks should just be removed from hockey. They are not pretty, they aren't impressive to watch and the injuries received are serious. Knee injuries aren't to play with.

Checks should be delivered on the upper body, shoulder against shoulder. No under the belt cheap shots.

Does anyone else notice in the past 3 games including this one how Sakic always tries to shoot it through someone and it ends up being blocked and turned over.
He doesn't seem to like to pass when the opportunity is there.

Actually, a good hip check is great to watch. However, you don't see too many of them anymore. At least, not in the NHL. As long as they aren't low, they are great. I like seeing them because they require more skill.

Richards is having an awesome game so far.

Creating offensive chances, taking the body, shutting down his man.

Kyle McClaren on Trevor Letowski about a month ago, don't know if you caught that hit, but it was a thing of beauty, and I'm a CBJ fan.

Harry Neale just jinxed Canada bad....."Russia 3 for 36 on the power play, with the type of guys they have, it shouldn't be"

Thanks Harry

Hummm now if only Pronger or Blake could prove you wrong... :sarcasm:
They cant even move on the ice... they are so slow. The Ovy One can fly around and hit anything that moves (oh and he has 30+ g in the NHL and 4g here).

So what youre saying is no ref ever gets any call wrong? :propeller

No what i'm saying is that posting the rules and saying that it was a major isnt right. The rules are written a certain way and the refs are left to interpret them in game time decisions. The refs didnt interpret that hit as a clip therefore it wasnt a major. I also didnt think that was a hit going for the knees/lower therefore IMO/the ref's opinion it wasnt a dirty hit. You interpreted the hit as a clip thats fine, I dont relly care, I didnt so lets leave it at that. We need some more views to make a call anyways but then thats an advantage the refs dont have.

Is Maxime Shushinsky not playing in the NHL by choice?

Seems to be a skilled player...
