The funniest thing is the USA fans in here just waiting for a Canadian train wreck :biglaugh:

Nah, even though I promised myself that I wasn't going to be cheering for Canada I find myself doing it anyways. The fact that they're playing Russia just makes it easier.

I am rooting for Canada as much as I have been rooting for USA... not just in hockey, but in all sports (well besides for today's curling semi final - haha)

Dude I don't think you're going to find anyone objecting to the check but the intent is certainly there. Kasparitis is well known for injuring players with borderline hits, this was no different.

EVERY HIT has a certain intent. Kasparaitis plays a physical game, yes somewhat dirty, but I dont think the intent there was to injure Gagne, you disagree thats fine.

Can you read that before you post:
A player who delivers a check in a clipping manner or lowers his own body position to deliver a check on or below an opponents knees, shall be assessed a ...

"on or below an opponents knees"
Are you stupid or something ?!?!

I replied to a post that said the hit was hip to hip saying that the hip wasnt on the hip, In case you didnt know there is a length of body between the hip and knee. Its not that hard to figure out.

Russia takes a goaltender interference penalty whey they have possession of the puck.

GO CANADA GO!!!

The sooner Russia lose, the smaller the chances Kovy and Markov are hurt. Could you imagine 'Nucks fans with the loss of Ohlund and Salo...... :amazed:

Tell that to your team when they played the Russians in the 70's and 80's. Canada did some dirty hits. I am done with this topic lets move on.

No and thats why it was a blown (non) call.

So... like I said the refs didnt think he hit filled the criteria or else there would have been a penalty.

Whats the point of this post? I hope Canada wins but I want to see a good game above all else.

Or it could be that they are hockey fans, and this is one of only two hockey games going on atm.
