Wow, it's unbelievable how fragile this Canadian team was. This smarts, but looking at the bigger picture, I really don't care because I'm more concerned with the Oilers in the NHL.

Looking at the reactions from the Canadians, I'm sure that they feel the same way, seeing as how they have something to play for in North America in a week or so. I can't wait until this tournament goes back to the amateurs.

Anybody see Bertuzzis weak weak pass to Pronger when the Russian player took it and iced it.

No, because it was non-existent. Geezus.

I just rewound the tivo, and on the icing at 19:50, Bertuzzi takes his man out of the play along the boards, *some other guy* weakly rolls the puck along the boards, they ice it.

When they drop the puck after that, the Russian simply gets it in the scrum and fires it down the ice where Blake gets it, nobody was passing to Pronger at all.

You guys are just making **** up now.

- Draper HAD NO BUSINESS ON THIS TEAM

Lots of blame to go around...

I disagree with that, Draper was excellent on the penalty kill, why weren't Thornton, Doan and Draper on the same line?

Lets do a HF Boards rating:

Goaltenders:
Brodeur
Luongo

Defense:

Foote :shakehead
Pronger :help:
Blake :help:
McCabe :help:
Redden :help:
Regher :innocent:
Bouwmeester :innocent:

A friend just e-mailed this:

"The largest differential between physical ability and hockey smarts of any player in the NHL."

He didn't mention names. I knew who he was talking about.

Nope. That award belongs to Ed Jovanovski.

Imagine if he didn't get hurt and was playing alongside Pronger. The terror, oh God the terror.

It's people like you that give hockey fans a bad name, that's all I have to say, I have so many adjectives I'd like to use on you, but I won't cause I know ALL of them will lead to warnings, every last one of them.

As for the loss, two things, Bertuzzi SUCKS, he should be banned from living itself, what an absolutely horrible penalty to take. Chris Pronger played more like Sean Pronger on the clearing attempt that was just ridiculous, I hate both those guys more than anything right now.

Ovechkin, I hate you, but, you're awesome, and I can't deny that, well played by Russia, but because of stupid plays, we are defeated, a big * you to Bertuzzi and Pronger, you wastes of space.

Last but not least  BRODEUR, if it wasn't for this guy, I dunno where we'd be, incredible, I hope everyone now realizes that he is simply the best, can't do anything when your team allows that many shots, just brutal.

We'll get em in 2010, MINUS Bertuzzi.
Great post. Please dismiss that stupid mother****ing piece of ****. Great game by both teams. A whistle went our way, but I don't think that there's anyone who can deny that we deserved that victory. See you next Olympics.

Why is it a shame? He was terrible. Everyone was terrible save Brodeur and maybe Smyth.
Exactly, which is why singling out one player is ridiculous. But whatever, looks like Pronger is officially the whipping boy now...

What a game...just wow!!!

Transitional hockey at it's finest. Offense, defense, offense back and fourth.

Nabokov was superhuman. Those saves on Smyth and in the third, on Thornton I think. :handclap:

We lost today because of three reasons:

1) Todd Bertuzzi

2) Chris Pronger

3) Pat Quinn.

Period. That's why we lost.
