Like if by the end of the season, he hit 15 goals? I mean, really not going to happen, but he could almost be movable.

I don't think 10 goals in the last 34 games is out of question. As long as his confidence is back there is no reason he can't.

Yeah, he is. He's not better than Spooner in any aspect of the game besides his hands, but Spooner has far and away better skating ability.

Gagner has fallen off the face of the NHL map in the last season. He's REALLY bad now. Spooner isn't good but he's better than Gagner.

The only comparable between us and Boston is Chiarelli.

They didn't have the anchor contracts that we do. They just had good players that were overpaid.

Sweeney was able to go right in, get some assets and re-tool within 1 year. Unless our new GM is a miracle worker, they're going to come in and wait 1-2 years for these contracts to expire and build up assets in the meantime. Then they have something to work with.

That’s true except if Chia stayed any longer he would have probably traded away key players (Chara, Krejci, Marchand, Pasta) for scraps.

Boston caught on early with the Seguin, Boychuk trades and quickly cut him loose before more damage was done.

He sucks in the NHL because teams consistently try to play him in scoring roles.

Tortorella had it right to plant this guy on the fourth line wing and ratchet up his PP ice time. Considering how poor our scoring depth and powerplay is, Gagner would actually be a welcome addition.

Spooner doesn't really fill any role or purpose on the team, Gagner would be a contributor to our PP and our 2nd unit is severely lacking in terms of skill. If Spooner's confidence level was in a better place, he'd like contribute more 5 on 5 cause of his speed, but both are one dimensional and very underwhelming defensively.

Wow you're dreaming or never done business before. The other GMs in the league aren't doing their jobs if they don't have a target right on chiarellis back given his trade history and his job situation. He is the most vulnerable GM in the league right now for making a bad deal and that means his phone is prob ringing off the hook.

Not what I said . GM are fired all the time and other GM don’t target them . Chia may get targeted for being bad at trades but that is going to happen whether he is on the verge of being fired or not . Let face it Chia is a bad GM . If he was in a desert and had the only water available he would some how manage to trade it for sand

I like drai but he’s overrated imo, Trocheck gives us anything drai has plus he’s RH , ditto with Ekblad plus higher potential , and reimer is a back-up, we go with koskinen rest of season and we save a little money in total.

Looking at the Oilers roster on capfriendly it's so confusing. Chia has completely back himself into a corner and into a bad trade coming up.

Maybe they have plans to put Nurse on forward once Sekera comes back. Idk, it's so FUBAR right now.
