Not that either side will ever cop to it but I am curious why Larsson decided Seattle was a better idea than the Oilers.

4 years in Seattle gives like Larsson almost an extra full year of tax free money versus Edmonton.

I'm sure Larsson's agent pointed this out as this is his job and told him it was a significantly better deal.

Wonder if they'll do the same photo op, lol.
This is the exact image that I think of when Lucic comes up.

I'm getting that same optimistic-but-deep down-feeling-of-dread as I had then.

Honestly wouldn't be mad if we got Hamilton for 8. We paid Larsson, Klef, Russell almost 13 combined and they didn't make our blueline elite!

As I've explained and you ignore. It is overall less than 1mill in savings. I think it's 700k

I want to see Holland and DNB get into a fist fight at some point, lol.

DNB would get dusted based on how mousy he turned when Holland started to get a little thorny. Rishaug, on the other hand, sounded ready to step toe-to-toe with him. My respect for Rishaug grew after that presser, I gotta say.

Hamilton would be a huge move for this team, not sure I can think of a better signing TBH

Uh what math are you doing there?

It's 1.7 million more for the term of his contract. Larsson would make 2.11 actual post-tax money in Edmonton per year ($4 million contract) ... $1.7 million over 4 years is almost an entire year's worth of difference in take home salary for Larsson.

It's significant.

It might turn into a Larry Brooks/Tortorella situation. My theory is that Daniel Nugent Bowman is pissed off at Ken for always mixing him up with Nugent Hopkins

You do know that his contract isn't paid entirely at Seattle taxes right?
It's paid per game, based on the city the game is played in.

It's still significantly more and the majority of his games are played in Seattle. Most games being played in the US period helps him because most US states have lower taxes than their Canadian counterparts.

The savings are not insignificant.
