I have some very very shitty cousins that say “family first” more than anyone, while begging for money after destroying properties they were allowed to stay in for free because “family first”
not my family. While we are not perfect we do not destroy things

What's the line on Vegas pulling some LTIR shenanigans. If they don't they could lose all of Marchessault, Stephenson and Amadio. They pretty much have to do something big to keep Marchessault.

My guess is that we see rotating LTIR moves. Stone, AP and Hertl all take turns in the infirmary. And that is assuming the Lehner spends the whole year on LTIR.

I'd put my money on our guys. Especially after a whole series. Our guys solved everyone they faced.

This isn't the NFL if they do hire Hunter chances are he isn't the GM by the time "his" guys are NHL ready.
An incoming GM from the CHL ABSOLUTELY would have a preference to have guys in the system that he has viewed and is familiar with if he likes them, whether they're 3 years away or not. Don't kid yourself, it's no different than a re-hired NHL GM frequently circling back to guys he had on his previous NHL team/minor league system due to familiarity.

Vegas starting laying the ground work the moment they got knocked out of the playoffs with the LONG list of injuries they claimed to have

Hunter does not really fit the circumstances JJ described though. If he was the guy they really wanted why would they not have had him signed already. The talk was that the guys they had in mind were tied up with their teams suggesting NHL positions.

Not sure why some think Jeff Skinner would be a good pick up, he's awful defensively and not at all complimentary for the Oiler's centers.

If the Oilers are going bring a defensively suspect powerplay specialist, there are better options out there.

Yeah, I get the impression that it's mostly Hunter is a connection of JJ's and he provided some insight to them on his players

Why haven't the oilers announced they are buying out Campbell yet? Thinking someone will trade for him?

Jeff Skinner in a massive liability in his own zone and when the game gets physical and serious he vanishes. Even in his Canes days he was just there for goals and nothing else

Hahaha this board would lose its mind and to be honest, I would be one of them

But we came so close and this team deserves to be brought back with some minor tweaks. No need for a shakeup or major addition until deadline.

Campbell cap cleared.

I’m open to moving Kane since he didn’t even play in finals when it mattered and we were fine. But good with him back if he’s healthy but that’s been a concern for 2 straight years now.

Even with Ceci I don’t mind bringing him back. Don’t prefer it but when he’s away from the anchor aka Nurse, he was good.
Sorry we don’t need Ceci back and Knoblauch called it out himself. Leon needs a scoring winger. We need to sign a consistent one

I missed JJ's press conference, didn't he mention he wanted a GM with some NHL experience and not a fresh body? Hunter has 4 years of NHL front office experience with Toronto

Oh lawd

That would be an awful garbage fire D corps

IMO some of this is spectacle to whine about the tax differences between markets. Might sound crazy, but this is the GM that also said "Calgary has taken a hit, and 'it pisses me off'" on his way to sending them down the rebuild (that ownership refuses to fully embrace).

Please bring in Viktor Arvidsson. He fits the old of what Knoblauch likes. He’s a shooter, he has great hockey IQ, physical, game is okay defensively and is just a pure pain to play again
sounds like there could be a bidding war for his services. Both Vancouver and Calgary are reportedly sniffing around him. He is a Swiss army Knife player. My guess he will be asking for between 4 to 5 a year. Even though he is coming off an injury year, he looked good in the playoffs
