Can't believe how invested I am in this - what I thought was a garbage all star - tourny
Tournament has been great, hockey players in particular have a lot of pride in wearing their home country's jersey so it shouldn't be surprising that they're going all out. I was skeptical of this tournament thinking it would be a severely watered down Olympics but the players are really invested as if it was a Cup finals, been a fun watch.

If it were the Olympics wouldnt there would be suspensions for fighting?

Frank also said the their was a team willing to take Yamamoto for free, which wasn't the case. Our guy on the other hand, Gazzola(Speedy Turtle) refuted such and was correct in the end.
Do you mean how Detroit acquire him and the rights to Klim Kostin for futures? So the rights to Kostin was the "expensive" add? Because that looks like free to me.

The point is Frank framed Yamamoto's value as neutral, which was wrong since he was immediately bought out and an asset was required to move him.

Detroit wanted Kostin and took on and bought out Yamamoto to get Klim. We would've gotten something of value for Kostin had we not had to throw Yamamoto into the deal to shed cap.

Please no more drafting pint-sized twerps pretending to be able to play against adults.

I guess we should draft big guys like Jesse Puljujarvi and Magnus Paajarvi?

Holloway and Broberg weren't exactly well received here and a big reason why we fired Tyler Wright.

Ironically Bourgault was the consensus BPA and he didn't pan out either.

This is why you pay your scouts to see what the casual fan doesn't see.

What DO our scouts see, exactly? Because they've been awful for a very long time. At least we've moved out of the "Draft coke machines from the Oil Kings" era.

Neither one filled a role on the team that has any actual value.

Getting away from both of those players without taking on extra cap hit was a winning move. An underrated one on Holland's resume, even,
Truth, I look forward to our 4 hit games in the playoffs when other teams are hammering and injuring our top players.

Kostin was perfectly fine until he priced himself out of here.
I mean that, and he wasn't that good at all around hockey. I love Kostin too, but the team is much better with more well rounded players.

Like Corey Perry in the same role as Kostin is LIGHTYEARS better and team is MUCH better for it.

I look forward to not having 'physical players' that don't do anything except take penalties and get scored on.

Kostin supporters are basically mad that we didn't Kassian him.

Since we moved on the guy can't even stick as a regular player on the worst team in the NHL.
