He is still finding his way onto a new team, that being said he is still the 5th best dman we have. Kulak skates better so giving him the edge. Emberson has played admirably but I think Klingberg is better and will only get better in our lineup.

Sure, but this isn't about Klingberg being bad, it's about Kulak being a Top-4 defenseman all year, and the reality the Oilers didn't sign Klingberg to supplant Kulak, they signed him to play above Stetcher

I'll ask again because you dodged my question. Will you give me credit when our starting 6 are:

Ekholm Bouchard
Nurse Klingberg
Kulak Emberson

or will you just keep acting arrogant.

Kulak's most common partner was Emberson this season. Nurse's most common partner was also Kulak, but very closely followed by Stecher. There has been a carousel in that spot, and Kulak has not grabbed it. Klingberg has absolutely been brought in here to be Nurse's permanent partner. That's the hope

Kulak has been the best partner Nurse has had this year, but he's playing on his off side. The team has been pushing Stecher more and more for this reason. I doubt the team wants Kulak as our 2nd pair RD game 1 of the playoffs. The awkwardness of being on his off side would be exploited and exposed, like it was last playoffs.

It's just amazing depth to have Kulak anchoring a high-minute 3rd pair with Emberson, with Stecher as the #7

Actually I think the team did consider that there was a possibility that Klingberg (if he finds his game) could be a steady top 4 dman and push Kulak to the 3rd pairing.
At the very least have the option of interchanging them on the 2nd pairing depending on the opposition.

I think its all about flexibility for Knoblauch and being able to move players around if needed.
Also helps in terms of injuries as well.

That's fair and I would agree, but to act as if the team is blindly assuming Klingberg the #4 right now is idiotic honestly.

I thought so too, but maybe there's a "soft roster freeze" so they over shadow the event.

Didn’t one of the plugged-in guys say before the break started some GMs told some players they might not be returning to their respective team when the league starts playing games again? I thought it was Frank but I could be wrong.

I mean that would make sense, trades should come together more easily over the break. Again, I think this is the league not wanting things over shadowed? Maybe all the trades drop the day after the final?

Blindy assuming is pretty harsh. They have seen him play, seen him practice, seen him work out in the gym.

If we think about this logically, we reviewed our possible trade targets for defence and realized that there aren't noticeably better options. Therefor our assets are best used to trade and upgrade another position.
