Miller is massive upgrade on Mercer. Nemec isn't even on the roster. I would take that from the Jersey side. I just dont get why they are targeting Miller to play him on the wing.

Honestly it depends how the rest of the team looks like at the deadline and whoever is injured. If someone important goes down, it might be more pressing to go out and fix that whole. Adding a guy for free that plays well isn't a bad thing.

Miller isn't going to hurt himself floating around the defensive zone giving zero effort like he usually does.

I think they'll want another LHD. Currently they have...

• Nurse and EKholm as the main defensive anchors
• Bouchard and Kling as the offensive pulse of the blueline; and
• Kulak, Emberson, and Stecher as the lower end 2-way/defensive options

Grabbing an older reliable vet like Dumoulin, Martinez, Lindgren, Maatta, Mike Reilly, whom you can park in the PB to back up the LD makes a lot of sense. It would leave you with...

Ekholm-Bouchard
Nurse-Emberson/Kulak
Kulak-Klingberg
Dumoulin, Stecher

Dude I don't hate Bouchard. I said he's in the tier of Sergachev, Dobson, Montour.

A few of you guys on here are extremely bias about him just like the Leafs fans who think Marner is the 2nd best player in the NHL.

I've written this a few times, but the Oil seem content to not have guys play through nagging injuries this year (at least during the first half of the season).

The Bruin's probably asked:

"How's the leg?"
"It's not 100%, but it's improving"
"Do you feel up to try it in game action?"
"Sure"
"Great, enjoy Providence!"

The Oil's back and forth has likely been:
"How's the leg?"
"It's not 100%, but it's improving"
"Great! Just keep working with the team in practice as you build it back to 100%"

Meanwhile the Oil get a break-glass-in-case-of-emergency #7, who doesn't count on the cap while learning the system,; and Alec gets to collect an NHL salary during his recovery.
