If they are pushing for playoffs, they won't be selling off roster guys imo. Maybe if our coaching staff played him and he scores a bunch between now and the TDL, we get a late pick from them for Skinner.
If they are selling off guys like that and saying screw playoffs, they won't have any need for Skinner so he would probably costs us a pick/prospect to dump him there, if he even waives.
From my POV the team has 2 options. Play him top line with Mcdavid or elsewhere that he could succeed and try and salvage the asset while treating the player fairly and either finding out you want to keep him, or increasing his value to a team like Boston. Or they scratch him til he's pissed off enough to waive anywhere, and they pay to get rid of him. They seem to be taking the second option, which I disagree with.
