You can’t just figure it out in Jan. If you go into LTIR you can’t accrue cap. If we use it at all we have to then send cap out before Kane comes back too. It has to be dollar in dollar out.

Carrier costs 3.75, Fabbro costs 2.5.
Adding one of them means one of Henrique, Dkinner or Arvidsson have to go.
If we get who we want, we wouldn't need to get anyone at the deadline. The only fudging we would need is how to get under the cap when Kane gets back. That might not be an issue if anyone else gets injured. Maybe we'd need to fudge something like Tampa did by swapping people onto LTIR to give them some rest up time

But anyway, maybe we wouldn't be able to male that trade right now anyway. Even if Trotz wants to rebuild, I'd bet he'd want to wait it out. No need to rush if the trade will always be there

McLeod and Holloway were young players developing. Is it a surprise that they are scoring more…now that they are a year older?

Who do we move out cap wise for anyone there?

So were Puljujarvi and Yamamoto once upon a time, and they would have stretches where it looked like it was working and then it would revert back to shit.

I'm just saying the fact is, last year the "support players" did f*** all during the first 13-14 games as well to help the team and it's the same this year, who knows maybe even the same next year.

Not even sure why this team even bothers with training camp + preseason at all. Just let everyone have an extended vacation, it probably can't be any worse than what they've done the last two years to start the year.

We were a Broberg away from solidifying this defensive core.

Nevermind...

There's something in the water in Edmonton.

He never withdrew his request. He wanted to be gone.

People keep forgetting [or in denial] about this. Guy just did his job during the playoffs when asked but at the end of the day, he still wanted a fresh start away from the Oilers.

Bouchard has not been good this year at all.
TBF, he was kind of the same to start last year. A lot of people were saying get rid of him, he's not going to be worth it, PP specialist only etc

We'll see by the 25 game-ish mark. Granted, I do wish he'd have more points by now but idiot would rather throw a wrister or pass off than to throw a bomb on the PP more often than I like

Yes he’s really struggled to start the year, an affliction the entire team has.

For those who rag on Skinner all the time take note Sheshterkin let in 5 goals on 19 shots as did Nedelikovac
Cool. Really great comparison. Maybe if they post like an .880 for an entire playoff run (including a series that started with a .7) and then statistically be one of the worst goalies in the entire league the following year then we can compare them.

I haven’t watched one game so far this year, and just checked the standings for the first time. The fact they’re behind the Flames and Utah a month into the season is just embarrassing. Having goalies at .885 save percentages probably plays a big part into that and that’s where the upgrade is needed first and foremost. .910+ goalies can bail out a mediocre defence. Sub .900 goalies usually don’t.

Have you taken notice where the team offense is ranked?
