Stauffer saying he wonders if what the Oilers need is a top 4 puck moving Dman who is not necessarily a right handed one but a left handed one who can play the right side.

Then proceeded to say “I wonder if Stan Bowman works on that in the next couple of weeks”.
Would be an interesting add with like 5 bux in cap space.

Cant count how many times I saw the critique of "skates fast and looks like he's doing a lot but doesn't contribute meaningfully, get rid of him" regarding young "fast" players like McLeod and Foegele.

So they replace them with guys who have actual lengthy track records as offensive players in Skinner and Arvidsson, and now it's "man I wish we had fast players like McLeod and Foegele".

I swear some people will complain about anything and everything.

Chychrun maybe too?

What silly thing to say by Stauff though. Maybe we don't need a RD who is a RD but a RD who is a LD lol. Just sounds like he's hinting he wants Provorov.
The whole show today was him saying “oilers need a puckmover etc etc etc”.

Ceci isn't it. Broberg was a risk to sign to his deal. Foegele outpriced himself from here and McLeod has proven not to be a playoff guy.
Broberg wasn't that big of a risk. If he had a horrible season then the buyout penalty after this season is 760Kx2. If he played close to his contract or the team wanted to move on then he could be traded in August. It's a gamble the team should have took.

How our team is built and how the League is trending, we should always be looking at D-men with some component of puck moving. We need 2 way guys essentially, not a specialist shut down or specialist puck mover. Just a Dmen that can do a little bit of both.

All those points but not playing D. It was his man on the Vegas winner last night. As mentioned Drai 23 mins, Bouch 27+, Eks 28+ mins on a back to back against NJ. One day break then last night, all of those 3 guys are on the ice. Too many minutes, guys get tired. For 14 million I want good D, not just points.

No panic as we should be a playoff team.
I agree we shouldn't panic. That's a recipe for a bad trade. There will be more available at the deadline, and we aren't in a big hole yet.

Silly. All the players we let go scored more last season and this season. 3 forwards we lost scored 38 goals last season. Those we gained scored 28.

The forwards we lost are outscoring the forwards we gained something like 14-4 so far this season.

Foegele himself has more NON PP goals than Arvid has the last 4 seasons.

It was false to say we were getting more scoring. We sacrified youth, upside, and ironically paid more to get these forwards. Who are cashing hardly anything. Foegele himself has scored more goals this season than ALL the new forwards we acquired.

So now I'll complain about your post. ;)

That's this year though on different teams with less pressure.

Last year, it took McLeod 22 games to score his first goal. He had another stretch last season with no goals in 17 games. Then in the playoffs he had 1 goal through 3 playoff rounds until a good Finals.

Holloway had 2 goals in the first 20 games, but the plan was never to lose him. Obviously that got bungled with the offer sheets the front office didn't expect.

Foegele was the only one who had OK numbers last year to start, but Skinner also has 3 goals.

Whoever we put on the 2nd line and ask for secondary offence from becomes a choke artist.

I wonder if Trotz is serious about his comment about kickstarting the rebuild if the Preds keep sucking. Not a good sign tonight, unless you are the Oilers looking for players.

Pay up for Carriere or look for a bargain in Fabbro?

For those who rag on Skinner all the time take note Sheshterkin let in 5 goals on 19 shots as did Nedelikovac

McLeod and Holloway were young players developing. Is it a surprise that they are scoring more…now that they are a year older?

Who do we move out cap wise for anyone there?

Shesterkin had a 0.920s% in 10 gp before tonight. Skinner is an 0.895.
Shesterkins WORST season was a 0.914. Skinners BEST was a 0.914.

Those players aren't that costly. I'd even use up LTIR and just figure it out in January

You seriously want to compare records and performance in small sample sizes between these two? I guarantee you I can find more Skinner stinkers than Shesterkin. And Shesterkin will have way more outstanding performances, than the California Closet guy.

Look at @CycloneSweep post above. Says it all.

You can’t just figure it out in Jan. If you go into LTIR you can’t accrue cap. If we use it at all we have to then send cap out before Kane comes back too. It has to be dollar in dollar out.

Carrier costs 3.75, Fabbro costs 2.5.
Adding one of them means one of Henrique, Dkinner or Arvidsson have to go.

12-13 games into the season and the decisions made this past summer look more disasterous by the day.
