Rodrigue is probably already better than Skinner but the Oilers don't really give chances. They prefer to trade them first and let other teams take chances.
Oilers are the hockey equivalent of the guy who marries the first girl he knows half way well and doesn't even try to test the dating pool and then realizes 15 years later he made a massive mistake.
We won't even give Pickard a run of games even though he has had significantly better numbers than Skinner because organizationally they've already made up their mind that "Stuey is our guy".
