I feel all of us have worked with a guy who looks just like Sprong.

Oilers fans love the fact that Larsson and Parayko brings more value than Nurse. We rather have Parayko and Larsson over Nurse and J Brown

Ekholm-Bouchard
Broberg-Parayko
Kulak-Larsson

Trade Ceci and free up 3.3M
Missed an opportunity to put the Swedes together in Broberg-Larsson and the Edmontonians together in Kulak-Parayko...

So… what does team friendly mean exactly? If it’s $13mil for McD and $10mil for Drai? That’s team friendly. Or is it$15mil and $13mil? That’s not so team friendly imho.

That being said we need to give them what we want, within certain limits of course. We have a lot of guys that took a lower deal to be with this club, and I HOPE our superstars leave a bit on the table to sign the lower-level guys…

Must have some serious defensive deficiencies to put up that many points and basically get league minimum.

He's a good 3rd liner. I won't dog him just because he went to Vancouver. The market is still tough despite the cap going up. Good signing. Sucks the cucks got him tho for cheap.

Edit:

He's better than Foegele with less than a 3rd of the cost.

Foegele penalty kills, put up the same numbers, and mostly scores 5v5. Sprong is a powerplay specialist that doesn't play any defense.

Sprong is ranked 11th overall goals per 60min 5v5 in the league. He's usually a very solid 2way player that touches 20 goals.

Foegele played a pile of min in the top 6 and just barely got 20 goals.

Edit: Defensively, he's very comparable to Foegele. They both do braindead plays and GA's. The difference is Sprong is a better 5v5 player at less than a third of the cost.

Sprong is a guy that needs heavy sheltering. Good example of why you give maligned players a shot though. Depth offense can come from odd places on the cheap.

Foegele is a better all around player though. Plays a better cycle game and has the build to get himself into scoring areas. Sprong's shot is his bread and butter.

So.. You'd take Foegele for 3.5m over Sprong at less than a Mil? Seriously? Or is your judgment shrouded by your hate for Vancouver?
Nope I never said that. Why do people always need to strawman the crap out of everything.

But that’s not what you actually said. You said he’s better than Foegele with less than 1/3 the cost.

Hes not better than Foegele. Him being 1/3 the cost does not make him a better hockey player than Foegele. Edit: just saw you said Sprong is a very solid 2 way player heh heh

Neither of these things are true. I don't disagree he's better than Foegele. But Foegele isn't an Oiler anymore, so who cares.

When you break it down, it's definitely true. We're talking 5v5/min played per goal ratio. He's 11th when you combine the last 2 seasons.

Edit:

Over the course of Sprong's career he's litera 23rd in the league at scoring 5v5/min.
