Bjugstad was arguably the best forward defensively for Arizona while playing top 6 minutes. Slot him up there. Voila. Upgrade.

The west is wide open and not going all in this year would be quite disappointing. He still made a great trade for Ekholm thought.

Bjugstad isn't a top 6 RW, but he's still better than Yams.

This is why Holland should not be done and try to add a shooter.

This is where Nurse being overpaid 1.5-2 million per really hurts us, if we had that cap room now we could add a decent player or have taken a chance on like Vrana.

They might have to, because Yams isn't enough.

I disagree. Nurse was a 5-6 back then. Klef had exactly one season where he was a good top pair D and it was because Larsson played great and Sekera took a lot of pressure off him. As soon as Sekera went down Klef was just another guy drowning out there. Nurse is better than Klef ever was as well.

Don't agree with your last sentence. I would take 16-17 Klefbom over Nurse today.

Just the perfect shitstorm. Or a shit blizzard if you will. Treliving had to save his job (and likely got marching orders from up top).

If Huberdeau and Weeger weren't locked in they'd be very enticing deadline pieces instead of flotsam on a sinking ship.

Again, there is TWO top 6 forward rental out there right now. One and Washington looks like they want to keep him and JVR even at 50% is out of range for us cap wise unless we run 21 forwards.

Outside of that maybe there is some guys with term left but unless they make 3mill or less, they don't fit.
Again if by the end of the day those kind of guys are moved then I'll say he missed the mark but I just don't see it happening.
 
The last time the Oilers had a guy named "You see" in net (different spelling but same or very similar pronunciation), he damn near pulled it off in place of Roli.

Yes I know Saros isn't happening but fun to dream.

Always wanted to ask a person from New York. I have never been in the city, just the airport. What I envision Mets fans as is suit & tie people, wall street brokers, people that have not played ball or sports their lives. It is just a place to go for a social gathering to rub shoulders with the elite . With your Yankee fan, I envision a more hard core fan base. They would be more die hard, blue color, actually have played sports . They will be a more vocal fan base

Still see Huberdeau asking out this summer . I think he ends up on the Habs with Calgary retaining

What does the PK have to do with 5x5? Two completely different things. Yams has poor defensive numbers even strength.

He's not terrible, but he doesn't produce enough for his defensive weakness.
