Foegele started the year looking like a guy who cared and just, sucks again. Meanwhile Bear is one of the few bright spots in Vancouver. Not sure how many other people saw the Seravalli Daily Face Off vid. He also indicated that Holland has thrown out feelers to see if anyone is interested in Foegele (and I believe he said Ryan as well).
I have heard that every team he has played on.Foegele started the year looking like a guy who cared and just, sucks again. Meanwhile Bear is one of the few bright spots in Vancouver.
He seems to have fallen off harder than Pulju has and he's only $100k cheaper.I still think a Pulju/Gurianov swap could work.
Rather that than like, a 6th round pickHe seems to have fallen off harder than Pulju has and he's only $100k cheaper.
Both played better in front of no crowdsI still think a Pulju/Gurianov swap could work.
The cap space is the main asset in a swap for a pick.Rather that than like, a 6th round pick
Gurianov can at least shoot the puck and has some hockey senseHe seems to have fallen off harder than Pulju has and he's only $100k cheaper.
Looks like we’ll be saying goodbye to Puljujarvi pretty soon
He has as many goals as Kulak this year.Gurianov can at least shoot the puck and has some hockey sense
I see him as the impact defense forward the team could actually really use to win match ups and take the pressure of when things aren't going in. Plus he can score a bit. It's worth a phone call for sure but the acquisition cost will likely be way too much (especially in division) and not really worth it for another big ticket forward. The Oilers already have their fill of big ticket forwards, 5 to be exact.
Depth and defense should be their focus from here on out. If the Oilers didn't have Nuge, I'd be all over Horvat (I'm a huge fan) but it's just not the right fit for the Oilers IMO. If they go bigger ticket, it needs to be defense like Chychrun who would be a big help and is already locked up at a bargain contract.
Maybe 10 goals if you put Gurianov on McDavid's wing lolHe has as many goals as Kulak this year.
You act like NHL GMs and scouts have longer memories then that.Like everyone else on the team, he’s played well the last 3games.
You made the comparison to Kostin. Unironically he's a similar high pedigree young NHL player who needed a fresh start. We don't know what the interest was in Puljujarvi. We did see two wildly uneven half seasons of hockey to see more potential in the player. There was plenty of NHL talent out there for $750k. It's nothing like gambling on Euro UFAs.
They didn't have to let him walk. They could have traded him. Like I said, there was a bunch of interest, but Holland chose not to move him.
Gurianov can at least shoot the puck and has some hockey sense
Squirrel! You act like NHL GMs and scouts have longer memories then that.
You spelled Kassian wrong. If only somebody could have predicted JP wasn't gonna be good years ago, we could have got more.
I agree I would prefer the team trade Pulju to clear up some cap space. But it's between Pulju or Gurianov at this point, I would prefer the Oilers take their chances on Gurianov. Worst case is you give Kostin a buddy and we set Pulju freeI think the team needs to make some cap space. I'd rather they just clear some if they are moving JP.
I'd be open to a Gurianov and Foegele swap. Gurianov been a disaster this year but has 1 year left as opposed to 2.
4th round pick incoming
That's fine if just that $3M is gone. Or getting a warm body of some use.4th round pick incoming
There is not guarantee he would get a better deal by going UFA. Chances are he would end up on a PTO or back in Europe. Going UFA means waiting until after most teams have made their key player decisions. If the cap only goes up $1M teams may be tighter this year than last and we saw a lot of players with better resumes that JP get a lot less than they expected. No team is going to offer him his QO so he will be a free agent as I cannot see Pulju accepting less without looking around and shopping himself first.
