That’s not some steal. A 20 pt guy that isn’t great on draws. If his skating takes a hit he’s not gonna be shadowing MacKinnon or anything. There’s major risk on a 5 year deal.

I see the other side, but this is a molehill next to a mountain of evidence. Treating the number of people defending Babs as comparable to the number who've complained about him - especially in a sit down and shut up league like the NHL - is an massive stretch of a take. It’s such an obvious fit. Then they only really have to worry about signing Hughes and they’re a very well rounded team.

Nothing, as he’d be interchangeable with any cheap contract listed on the roster right now like Clattenburg. I did miss putting Podkolzin on those mock lines though, so it’s pretty full up front with a Tuch signing. Hutson is decent insurance if injuries hit though. Could step in almost anywhere for limited stints.

Not really the league's fault. There will always be cities and locations that are more desirable than others, and the league has zero control over regional taxes.

NHL isn't even really all that bad compared to other leagues like the NBA, even if it's starting to move in that direction as natural hierarchies of desirability form.
