I don't know about Kirby Dach. I watched Montreal in the playoffs and he was often benched and also made some glaring defensive errors as well. Montreal fans on their board were often calling him out in their GDT.. Not good enough to be top6... and not really an effective defensive bottom 6 player who can penalty kill or anything either.

I think we could do better than Dach.

Yea with no offense he really is not a upgrade on anything , I remember having discussions with BBO and his draft year his production in the WHL was not going to convert well in the NHL everyone was so big on his size and R shot Center that factor got overlooked in the draft , Chicago blew it taking him 3rd overall in 19

What a weird year that turned out to be. I had us trading up to go for Cozens and im embarrassed to say whatf i was trading. Dach looked looked unreachable at the time.

IRRC Dach had some decent defensive metrics earlier in his career.

I'd rather take a chance on him for a fraction of the cost of Dickinson (if Dach went unqualified) than sign Dickinson to a monster deal he'll never live up to.

Why would an org waste resources to chase a walking infirmary at this point. I can understand MTL taking a chance but he is what he is now across 2 orgs.
