I'm fine if Nurse comes back tbh. I think he has a better year if hes beside Murphy or demoted to 3LD beside Emberson, and I dont have faith in Stan to find a better Dman on the market. I also want Walman to come in motivated to take a top 4 spot with his new deal.

I also dont have faith in Bowman to use the freed up cap wisely. Tuch is the only interesting FA fwd, and I dont think hes the fit we need tbh.

They absolutely need another difference maker. What does replacing Kapanen with Mikheyev do for us? f*** all at best, and at worst its a mangiapane scenario if he doesnt fit.

They kind of have to move Nurse at this point or they'll have no cap flexibility.

7 million but you still need to sign a back up goalie, a 12th and 13th forward, and a 7th d-man ... that leaves you with like $3 million left to basically have the same team that lost to Anaheim minus Kapanen.

Do you know the Oilers salary cap situation or is this yet another reason to complain? They didn't need to trade Nurse to sign these two guys, two guys that were their #3C and 2nd pairing RHD last season which are kind of important pieces, guys that did fine in their roles. These signings are no reason to jump for joy but I don't see the problem here. Also it's June 22nd so maybe save the sky is falling stuff for, I don't know, after the draft and free agency? Just a thought

What are we thinking from the Sharks? Mukhamadullin probably? Graf would be awesome but I’m not sure if they’d part with him. Graf would negate the need for someone like Tuch, and allow 9 million to be spent on 3rd pair LD and 2RW.

Goodrow probably, that’s a really terrible contract the Sharks have no need for. I don’t know what we do with it but eating it for one year is worth freeing up Nurse’s cap.

Nurse is a valuable asset for an up and coming team. Sharks make too much sense. If the Oilers cant get McDavid his cup with a decent roster within 2 years. Problem is you don't have really any cap space left if you do this.

Once you sign Dach, a 13th forward, a 7th D, and a back up goalie you're left with about $3 million left if you keep Nurse.

Even with the cap rising we don't have much breathing room with a full roster.

Kinda where I'm at too. If McDavid opts to go to San Jose or something in 2 years, I will be cheering for him to win a Cup there. He deserves one.

Need one more forward with offensive talent for the second line and a guy for the third line that can push the pace and get pucks on net.

Eeli tolvanen would be an interesting add. 27 y/o UFA that has a great shot and lays the body a ton. Owen Tippett or Rakell for the top 6, but I doubt Stan has the chops (or assets) to get either back in a Nurse trade. Fully expect them to trade for Debrusk and re-sign Kapanen and call it.

That would make a very nice looking forward group. The right hand shot from Boeser in the RNH spot on PP1 would be crazy and keep teams from keying in on Drai on the other side.

C - Quite set. Would love a lazar type as a depth forward to finalize it.
Top 6 wing - We need 1, otherwise good.
Bottom 6 wing - If Nuge is bumped down, this can work - but we should add a depth guy at the trade deadline.
RD - Set. Cup ready.
LD - Need to see who replaces Nurse. Probably need a trade deadline add.

So a Nurse trade and a 3LD replacement, a top 6 w acquisition, and a goalie add is necessary to feel good about this summer.

Boeser would score 30 in his sleep here if on the top PP unit. Rumour last year was down to the Oilers or Canucks as to where he was going to sign, so we know there’s interest from the Oilers side. Howard will be a 25-35 point undersized winger next year unless he gets big pp minutes, and a right hand shot is ideal if Nuge is getting bumped from pp1, so I’m not sure if Howard will be put in a position to succeed as an Oiler.
