Jones for Montour is probably a saw off.

The issue we aren't nearly as good because of Jeff Jackson.
I disagree that its a saw off..looks like an improvement to me.
I do however agree with you about the Oilers. Team looks more like a pretender than a contender.

What is the current level of the LTIR pool?

They already dipped into it with the Klingberg signing. Does the Puckpedia site accurately reflect this?

This was when Klef wasn't hurt and played his best stretch. More than a few posters piled on that he was better. I was the single minority.

So clearly I was the expert in this case...looool
Just out of curiosity I took a look at the thread you made the post in

What a scary mess that thread turned out to be!

Jackson basically said Kane will be out until playoffs. I'd keep Kane.

That gives the Oil cap Flexibility. The Oil should waive Kapi. He's a defensive liability. The only tool he possess is speed but nothing else.

Since Knob hates J.Skinner, you might as well trade him out east for a small return and free up 3m.

The boyz can then make an upgrade in the to 6, Goaltending AND add a high octane gritty player in the bottom 6.

For the top 6 I really like the idea of acquiring the German kid from Buffalo Peterka. He's young and can score. I'd over pay even.

Not sure which goaltender I'd go for but we absolutely need to get one! Skinner just ain't it.

Get a player like Frédéric with retention.

Now this would be an A+ deadline. Cross your fingers because I don't see this much change happening

Funny how this board gives that benefit of the doubt to other teams goalies.
lol big difference between your made up “terrible defence” and actual terrible defence.

Also I still said he got torched. He wasn’t good. The defence was just really bad.

Excellent. I'd go for Dumoulin. Donato as well but he kind of is like our other forwards. We still need a physical, big bottom six player. I think Dickinson would be okay as well
You know Donato would be 3rd on the team in hits and be 3rd goals for potentially 1 million aav if you get him 50%. He does get PP1 time though, so his points could be a total wash.

Gibson really hasnt been 'good' since the 2018/2019 season.

Sometimes change for the sake of change isnt necessarily a good thing.

It's not happening no matter what.
If they don't add anything of significance and we get bounced in the 1st round their jobs should be secure? Not in my eyes.

Montour is smaller but he plays big boy hockey and is a pita to play against. Jones for his size is pretty soft IMO.
Well...Jones is bigger and eats up more minutes than Montour.
Florida has such a stifling defensive system...Jones will be a beast to play against.

As for Tkachuk...how disappointing it would be if he didnt return? ;)
I'd rather beat them with Chucky on the ice but oh well if he's out.

I heard the same argument when it came to Blackwood. If you watch both they are clearly just better goalies than Skinner. I think Gibson would look amazing behind this roster. Could be wrong but a gamble is needed.

It’s not a change for the sake of change. It’s change for the sake of improving on the worst goaltending duo in the league.

In Floridas system you just need to take up space...get in the way.
Jones is significantly bigger and more rangey than Montour. He is also capable of playing a lot more minutes compared to Montour.
Looks like an upgrade to me.
Florida upgrades...Oilers downgrade. Not a good trend.

Agreed about Chucky though.
