That is interesting in that I don't see the real gripe. Vegas didn't even have to get penalized when they wiped their butt with Davydov's NTC.

Isn't it honest to ask for a no-trade list because we want to use his cap space elsewhere? It's up to him to say that he won't be a cap problem by staying on LTIR for the season.

Plus I doubt the team would ever put that suggestion in writing at any point. These shady things are handshake deals
It shouldn't be an issue but we seem to always get f***ed.

Worked ok for this guy, heh (still rocking the Minnesota pads there I think).
I don’t know if you saw my edit, but I didn’t see Pickard’s name at the bottom of your list and just saw Gibson & Reimer coming in lol

Don't blame a guy for not wanting to commit medical fraud.
Fair, but then could we blame him for taking so long to get the surgery and then basically f***ing his team? If he got it earlier and could return around now he could be seen as a big addition to the team. If he returns with a week left in the season we are pooched.

A name I haven't seen much smoke around this year is my usual deadline request: Nico Sturm.

6'3, 210, skates well, and over 60% on the dot, and is quality defensively. Not overly physical, but he does fight through checks well.

He also brings zilch offensive, but the Oil need that size and power in the bottom 6 more than anything else.

Outside of majorly helping the PK, he gives you the option to kick Henrique to the wing more often instead of purely locking him in as the #3C. Imo Rico's far better when he's bounced around the lineup top 9 vs. being locked into a particular role.

Is it though? The timeline for coming back from an injury isn't set in stone. With the timing this tight, we are talking about him taking a few weeks of extra rehab and prep. It's not months. So this is just about Kane's preference. The rehab wouldn't be fake or pointless

And making sure that he's fully healthy so that he has no set backs.

It is fraud cause he has to tell his medical team he is in pain still. Some guys have integrity. Others play for Vegas.

Yeah I realized I hadn't traded Pickard, so I guess he and Reimer can battle for the back up spot. Probably not a bad thing to have more insurance at that position anyway.
Ideally we'd be 3 NHL goalies deep. Look at Vegas the year that they won it all as an example of that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there no real standard for returning? If it is pain, how much pain? A lot of injuries will never be 100% and will even have pain, but some players will want to play through it. Others want to be truly 100% to be back. And, pain isn't even the required measure. I'd say the odds of Kane having absolutely no reminder of his injury lingering around as near zero, especially at his age. So this is likely about his preference.

To an extent. But if he wants to be effective at all when he returns he is going to need to play some games. If not the Kane we get back is going to be a 4th liner.

The reasonable original timeline for his return was now give or take a week or two. He extends it that will look suspicious and the league will probably have to look into it. The thing with the Vegas and Tampa guys, their original timelines with the injuries were like a week on either end of the playoffs starting. So it felt bad but not as suspicious as this would.

With the amount of trouble he has been in the past, I doubt he wants to do anything again.
