I think that's one of my main worries. If the offense dries up, will Knoblauch do the same shit like every other previous Oilers coach and slot McDrai together? Adding a top 6 scoring winger at least prevents the McDrai line and spreads out the offense more. It's just not a recipe for success for the Oilers to constantly play McDrai together. No other players can drive their lines the way those two can by themselves.

I think for the first time in maybe ever we are in a position where we can stack the top line, but still put out a second line that won't be blown apart in matchups.

Kane - Henrique - Hyman
RNH - Henrique - Hyman
RNH - Henrique - Mcleod
McLeod - Henrique - Kane

All our options that wouldn't hurt us (except maybe the last one) that allows us to stack the top line, some of which still give us the ability to have McLeod on the third line at C.

I agree completely, but the money is seriously tight, I think Duclair @75% retained is about they can do without having to move too much around.

It's doable, just going to be interesting.

That's why I find it frustrating. Our money's tight. But they'll use it for a 7th depth vet because Broberg still be can't be relied on, so they'd rather sacrifice it on that rather than a top 6 scoring winger who would prevent the mcdrai line from happening at any early signs of potential panic by the coaches.

I still find it hard to believe on what Holland said an hour ago. You aren’t comfortable with your 6 if you are willing to do Ceci and a first for Tanev. It looks like they know they have to upgrade 2RD, and just waiting it out. I still hope Holland can make a splash for an upgrade on D.

Mods are on point today. Made a joke on the mains and it got swept in seconds.

My hope is people soften on Campbell as a dump, but who knows.

We'll have to wait and see. Maybe this the spot where Lavoie comes a takes a job by the horns.

I'd be absolutely stunned if any team actually takes Campbell.
Lavoie would be nice, but if they won't rely on Broberg to handle a 7th d role, I just don't see them using Lavoie as a top 6 winger. They already leave Holloway in a 4th line low minutes when that kid should be in a place to succeed by playing with actual top 6 players instead of Ryan and 0 goal juggernaut Connor Brown.

I feel like they need a RHD for when Ceci or VD stumble, because you know it's gonna happen.

TVD would be my choice.
Not sure who TVD is?

Edmundson might be beyond their price point now asset wise. Playing pretty big minutes so could be a hard get. Love the size and physicality for a 7th D going for a marathon playoff push.

As soon as I seen they waived Johansen I thought it might work as the Flyers have been linked to Campbell.
I thought if there was a Walker deal maybe a swap of Peterson for Campbell in there too.

Who the hell knows, maybe Flyers seeing if anyone take Johansen for free and then they flip him still.

I mean as bad as Johansen has been he's still some sort of NHL level center so it is a bit odd PHI would just outright waive him.

Chad Ruhwedel would work as a #7 for Foegele. They can throw in a 50% Guentzel and the Oilers can add some picks/prospects.

He can't cost much more than a 4th or 5th can he?

Watch the smirk Holland has when asked if he's going big. He's not going to show his hand.

If he says yes, then the price goes up. What do you want him to say "yeah, I'm on the hunt for a top 4 D man" or how he answered.....vague.
These Neanderthals in here STILL don't understand how Holland operates. He never shows his hand and they freak out every time lol.

My opinion:
Getting 75% and 50% retention on 2 forwards to trade for a 7D seems a bit weird.
Being positive with how your current 6D is but then wanting to trade Ceci + the 1st round pick for Tanev days ago.

It just doesn't make sense. Maybe Holland's just keeping his cards close to him.

I don't understand... why are the Pens trading Guentzel?

Is this just a big game of chicken between the Pens and Guenzel's agent?

If I'm Guenzel... I'm staying stapled to Crosby as long as possible.
