Panthers have beaten the Oilers twice this year and just got better. Parayko on his own won't be enough.
I have a Firestick and u can watch these classics 24/7. Cheers was unreal. Monkey was classic. The XMAS dinner was a good one as well. We were finally gonna get to see Vera and she got the pie in the faceLol.. I always try and tell people about the famous shock treatment episode, to those poor souks who've never experienced the magic of Cheers ! Lol
One of the classics, along with the monkey delivering the mail![]()
Parayko alone without any other additions pushes the needle as much as if not more than Ekholm did. It gives us two top pairing dmen and two second pair d men. Defence wins championships isn’t that what we have been told over and over for years?Agreed - unlikely we get Parayko and anything else aside from scraps outside of double retention. Also unlikely we get Parayko at all.
But I don't think the restraint is Cap, but rather other resources. Keep in mind we 2.3 million in real cap space with 60/82=73% of that salary accrued already. Which by accrual equates to around 8 million in contracts we can absorb approximately. We can also increase that by whatever we can push off the roster. Hence why talks have been we can acquire 3-4 players.
But I do think Parayko alone is better than almost everything else on the market.
And Dallas and NashvilleYou forgot Vegas
No it wouldnt?Ceci and Foegel out would leave them with over 2 million to grab a Foegele replacement and another piece. Could still fit in two 6 million cap hits with 75% retention, or a couple 3m hits with 50% retention. Things are definitely possible this year with the accrued cap.
Panthers have beaten the Oilers twice this year and just got better. They have enough assets to add another impactful player. Parayko on his own won't be enough.
Oilers got goalied by an elite goalie. We don't have one. Florida has an elite goalie. The Oilers dominated the Jets in 19-20 regular season and got swept by them in the playoffs.
That's just one of many examples.
Why are we talking about something that would never happenPanthers have beaten the Oilers twice this year and just got better. They have enough assets to add another impactful player. Parayko on his own won't be enough.

So if the Oilers trade Holloway and Ceci in a deal for Parayko right now, if they also send Gagner to Bako, Parayko fits under the cap, no issue. If we send Ceci back they would need to retain around 1.5 mill on Parayko for us to not be at 0 cap space. That would mean them retaining for 6 years past this year. The cost of that alone would be astronomical.
Its all making sense JimmiSo if the Oilers trade Holloway and Ceci in a deal for Parayko right now, if they also send Gagner to Bako, Parayko fits under the cap, no issue.
The Oilers end up with $171.981 on the cap according to Cap Geek.
This is at this full cap hit, no retention.

as a resident, it's pretty close
he wasn't going anywhere else...Ottawa got what they could
Okay, but we aren't going to get anything for retention, maybe a few hundred k at most. Retaining on a contract for 6 years would be a crazy expensive ask. Its a late 1st for 3m of retention on a player for a full year, just remember that.So if the Oilers trade Holloway and Ceci in a deal for Parayko right now, if they also send Gagner to Bako, Parayko fits under the cap, no issue.

Then, again, it's easier to lay down a quit.Okay, but we aren't going to get anything for retention, maybe a few hundred k at most. Retaining on a contract for 6 years would be a crazy expensive ask. Its a late 1st for 3m of retention on a player for a full year, just remember that.
Like it leaves the team in an ugly spot, but it's doable. Its all making sense Jimmi
Well they did supposedly offer a first for TanevI don’t see how Parayko is an option when defense doesn’t seem like a priority to the Oilers.
We were playing bad and blew a 2-0 lead to them and Tampa and that 2nd game Bob was haseking us that first lolPanthers have beaten the Oilers twice this year and just got better. They have enough assets to add another impactful player. Parayko on his own won't be enough.
Yup. Then moving Foegele opens the door for som rental forwardsSo if the Oilers trade Holloway and Ceci in a deal for Parayko right now, if they also send Gagner to Bako, Parayko fits under the cap, no issue.

Okay. While we are at it. Lets trade for Crosby @ 50% retention and maybe snag Bedard. Then, again, it's easier to lay down a quit.
I don't suppose they will, but $1M on an increasing cap is a replacement level player, they might be convinced for the right price.
