Eberle could pretty easily join Edmonton(or another contender) for a title run and then sign back on with the Kraken in July.

Doesn't seem like Seattle's offer would suddenly come off the table.
Tough to turn down guaranteed long term money when you are an injury away from not getting that deal in the summer though.

How the hell that guy could identify young talent that was drafted was something else.

Even though there were some tough years there, it could've been a lot worse during those cash flow years.

Then again the drafting was something else lol
Slats was a master at turning old players we couldn’t afford to keep into upcoming gems. Weight,Guerin,Brewer,Carter,Cujo all Sathers guys

The only time I remember Ebs and Nuge struggling together was when they were anchored with Lucic

Yes thats because they both can't drive lines. They needed someone like Hall to transport the puck, Lucic couldn't. I think McCleod could

Fill me in, why does people think Nashville wants to trade Carrier, thought they are competing for a playoff spot? Is he in the dog house down in Nash?
They aren’t sure they will sign him and they have a stud in the AHL they want to give a shot to

Nashville reported mentioned to watch Edmonton in a potential deal for Carrier.

They're in a playoff spot, but no real chance to contend. I think they're still looking long term.

After Slats

Lowe should be no.2. People say Vegas goes all in and is aggressive, Lowe took a non-playoff team and made them a game 7 Stanley Cup Finals team by adding 6/7 players in about 7 1/2 months.

Pronger.
Peca.
Spacek.
Samsonov.
Tarnstrom.
Roloson.

Added a no.1 superstar D, a top line winger, another top 4 D, a bottom pairing D, a strong checking center, and a no.1 goalie.

This is what going "all in" actually looks like

Lowe had one very good run on 05/06 but when Pronger broke his brain he became very reactive and had multiple compounded errors that sunk the team to the DOD. Holland has had some miscues but we have been consistently in the playoffs since his arrival.

Carrier would be cheaper to aquire and Zub would mean we would have two young d men to worry about signing in the near future. That’s my line of thinking between those two.
Carrier might turn the Nursing pairing into a decent 2nd pairing.

Zub will turn the Nurse pairing into a top pairing

It is a little unfair of a comparison as Lowe had the equivalent of 45 million in today's cap space to make that happen while several teams were basically super f***ed while being 25% over the cap.

But fair point.

Until Holland gets us to a Finals, no way can he be ranked above Lowe.

Lowe couldn't dream of having talent like McDavid and Draisaitl. Even getting an Evander Kane for free would have been like a mini miracle for those Oilers teams back then.

Radek Dvorak was the 2nd best Oiler in 03-04, lol, he retooled that team to game 7 of a Cup Final in about 8 months flat.

Yeah...Lowe let his emotions get in the way far too much.
That aside...comparing Holland to Lowe really isnt fair.

Lowe had budget restrctions that far exceed Hollands biggest challenge which is maxing out the cap.
Also...Lowe didnt inherit 2 of the best players in the NHL like Holland did.

Lowe was the reason we became the joke of the league though. Yes we made the finals and didn’t go back to the playoffs for 11 years. He made some terrible and I mean god awful moves after Pronger left. He slides to number 3 for destroying the team post cup run I’m sorry.

I don't know how much was Lowes emotions and how much was the EIG's miserly tendencies.

Disagree.
Pouliot - RNH - Eberle was one of the best lines in the league for a few months once. Did Pouliot drive it? Some players can't drive lines alone but as a duo they can.
