How?

Colorado slightly upgraded on defense and added a forward that is scoring less than Henrique and has zero two way game.

Tanev is not a home run addition (I suspect we would be accused of losing the "arms race" if the shoe was on the other foot here and acquired him for a 1st)

Hanifin is not a material upgrade for Vegas.

A grand total of zero of those moves materially impact our ability to beat any of those teams in the playoffs even if we do nothing else.

Colorado added a tough middle 6er, top 4 dman and top 6 forward. So disagree.

Dallas added arguably the best available player at this years TDL. If he stays healthy thats one of the best blue lines in the league and they already a defensive stalworth

You dont think adding Hanfinin as their 4th D over whitecloud/Hogg is an improvement? I just dont get how you can say that at all.

Respectfully disagree on all counts. I think Oilers improved as well - dont get me wrong. But just not as much as the three team mentioned.

I'm not shitting on the additions (I like Henrique), but I do feel the need to point out that Connor also vouched for Lucic and Connor Brown as signings. He is exceptional at many things, but evaluating team additions isn't exactly of them.
and Lucic was a big part of the success we enjoyed in 16/17. After his dad he fell off a cliff but CM was right about him when he first arrived. Brown I will give you though:

I love how people keep calling Vegas smart for doing what they’ve been doing. Is that admitting they’re cheating? Because if it’s just a legitimate injury what’s smart about that? They’d be extremely lucky year after year not smart.

They’re cheaters and I don’t respect that at all. f*** em

The way you guys talk about him that he should be up here, etc.
Again you made a clear cut statement. Now you are back tracking and trying to spin it the way you like. Not wanting to trade a high first round, pick developing D for pennies on the dollar isn't the same as over valuing a prospect. You are trying to read fans you don't know which you can't do over the internet. Just admit you are wrong and one on.

Would I trade Broberg ? Yes if it is for a D that is not a rental and is a top 4 RD. Yes I know we would have to add to him. I wouldn't trade Broberg for a rental D or forward.

Colorado traded players to get players. After #1 (McDavid), the Oilers have 3 centres who are better than Middelstadt including the one they just acquired. If anything we are out "arms racing" the Avalanche, we got the better player. Walker is not a needle mover.

You are probably alone in your opinion on Tanev. He's a good one way d man that has taken a bit of a step back this year. I think you would struggle to find a single other person that would describe him as the best available player at the deadline.

I think Vegas's defense is already solid and already efficient through three pairs. I don't think the impact there will be material, and I think Hanifin is massively overrated. This could be a blessing in disguise, because McDavid absolutely abused him in the playoffs just two years ago. Hopefully he brings the same level of impact. Don't think that Hanifin makes a big difference to a team that has been playing at a 25th place level since November.

Let's be real, if our management operated like Vegas- going for it every deadline, upgrading wherever and whenever they can, taking advantage of loopholes, we'd love it. In fact, I'd argue the way Vegas is run is how the vast majority of successful business are run. It's just that we have sleepy Ken at the wheel, so while the last two cup winners are adding top 4 D and top 6 forwards, we're tinkering around the edges.

Sure, but also f*** the Knights and their f***ing nonsense. I wish them nothing but as much bad luck and failure as they can absorb.
