Unless there's more to it, this means they can't call up Holloway until the playoffs because he makes $75k more than Shore.
Which is fine.
Holloway can get some icetime and confidence down there and come up and be a black ace or roster guy during the playoffs.

Andreas Athanasiou back to the Oilers would be one of those "redemption" tour adds for Holland... would get some belated value out of those 2 2nds he threw away,

Not that AA is that great... just would be humorous to see him added.

Not getting the Bjugstad deal at all. A journeyman UFA that's not known to use his size for a *3nd round pick and a very promising right handed towering prospect defenseman is a huge overpay. Throwing those assets

I think they needed a better return for these quality assets.

*EDIT: Oops, see that it's a 3rd, not a 2nd. Still don't give up Kesselring for this UFA player.

It's a good thing they didn't give up a 2nd

What did they trade? I thought it was a 3rd round pick and Michael Kesselring, a prospect having a solid season, but not "that" promising. They didn't trade tullio or something

We get Cam Dineen back who is 5th in the AHL with points for defenders.
Bjugstad doesn't use his size apparently but he is now the hits leader on the team.
He is also a +7 on a team that is -25 5v5

So far:
OUT:

2023 1st
Schaefer
2024 4th
2023 3rd
Kesselring

IN:

Bjugstad @ 50% Dineen 2024 6th

Kudos Kenny for not hoarding assets and prospects. One more move, please?
And I believe we give up our second choice of we make the cup final? Or is that condition gone with Keith retired?

I get that we needed right handed depth that can play at ES, but was he worth a third and an okay prospect when for a second we could have grabbed Domi to fix our top 9 situation?

Also if we come out of this deadline with Ceci as our top pair RD, we haven’t done enough imo.

Interesting wiki read..

Bjugstad is nicknamed “Rotisserie Chicken” after he skipped dinner with his Panthers teammates and opted to purchase rotisserie chicken at Publix instead. Amused fans would often throw chicken wings onto the ice as a result.
