How do you guys feel about putting our 1st in play for some forward help?

I don't think we can deal Larsson until the off season. I like the Larsson + 2nd (or JP) for Johnsson + Kerfoot idea.

Could we deal Larsson now in that deal and then dangle the 1st + a prospect + 2021 2nd to Minny for Dumba?

Obviously in both circumstances we'd have to make the cap work.

Yeah...I doubt very much there is a player that has the Oilers on their 'go to' list.

I think we still need Larsson for next season unless the team adds another proven top 4 Dman this off season. Bear, Benning, Bouchard won't be a good enough right side next season.

Because I'd like to see the team try and make a push while McDavid and Drai are at their peaks instead of waiting for...something.

If Zucker does indeed have a situation where he cant leave the US (which seems to be true) then there really isnt anything to be disappointed about.
Its not like he is the only potential target.

Bear, Larsson, Bouchard isn't good enough and it's Larsson on the Klefbom pair that sticks out.

I do think they should look for another mix, whether it's a legitimate top-four guy or not, and move on from Larsson. He's just not consistently playing like a top-4 defenseman and he's a bad mix with this group. Bad at moving the puck and that's not a strength of our LH shot guys either, so he doesn't fit in. Maybe, just maybe, there's room for a Jones-Larsson bottom pairing but I don't like paying 5M for a bottom pair.

See what you can get from him and contact Mike Green (Alberta boy who signed last two contracts with Holland), Sami Vatanen, Kevin Shattenkirk, etc.
