Hank is in MTL's heads. I think the extra day may help them clear their heads a bit more.

Meh, non-issue.

If anything it benefits us.

The rangers had an exhausting weekend.

Game on saturday, funeral on sunday, game on monday where they came out looking like trash in the first period.

So am I supposed to say he sucks now? Like am I supposed to be stubborn like some people not admit when a player I was hard on before is playing well?

You're supposed to understand that he didn't suck then. You were saying he sucked as late as a week or so ago.

we'll see about the rest. I typically tend to think it favors the team that's down, or tired or injured. When you win a couple, and are relatively rested and healthy, you want to keep going. The Rangers do not need rest now; they just had some and are itching to go. So I think the rest will favor the Canadiens, but what that all means remains to be seen. Rest alone will not win game 3.

When thinking about the fact that we have 5 games to get 2 wins (and we didn't play at home yet even!!), I have to pinch myself.

We said that about the difference between 2-0 and 1-1, too. The Rangers basically have to not listen to the **** we or the media are saying. Just go in there, be very businesslike, DO NOT put on a show, and do what needs doing.

Urgency is the word of the day.

This team is very good at doing this.

The Rangers mind their own business and nobody else’s. It has become a hallmark of this team.

“That’s not something that just comes, you’ve got to work on it, and we do,” Boyle said. “Our leadership in here sets a great example for us.

“We didn’t focus on who was playing in goal for them. We didn’t expect it to be any easier just because of the change. We had a write-up from the coaches before the series of what we needed to do to beat Montreal, and that stayed the same whether Price was in net or not.”

I'll say it again, I'm eating crow on the MSL trade. The guy is something special. He's a born leader. He's leading this team like Callahan could have only dreamt of. Not a knock on Callahan, as I adore the guy, just not the type of leader we all wanted him to be.

This is so friggin cool

The Rangers are up 2-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals coming BACK to the Garden for two games.

This is exciting stuff. Enjoy it everyone because we all know the struggles this team has had over the years. Something special going on here with this TEAM.

I agree with you but i think once the Rangers step on that ice the crowd is going to elevate them.

I think it doesn't favor anybody really, unless one team just came out of a game 7 while the other team had a week off, then it would favor the team that had the more intensive schedule.

Both teams get the extra day off. At this point there's bigger things at play then how many days between games.

How MT handles his team is going to be a big one. It seems like the guy is getting unraveled and can't take the pressure/circumstances, and that's going to play out poorly for his team.

It's kind of hard to keep your team calm and composed when you as the head coach is losing it.

I'm rather nervous about playing at home, but the team is riding a confidence high right now and you can tell when they play. Everything is coming together for us at just the right time. Playing some of the hockey right now than we have all year.

If you can be nervous about coming home with a 2-0 series lead in the conference final, you can be nervous about anything.

Life as a Ranger fan...

I'd be nervous with a 3-0 lead. I stop being nervous when we win the series. But you're right, as a Ranger fan it's a built in emotion that deep down you know things can change in the blink of an eye.

We have been better on the road this year, and Montreal has desperation on their breath. We came back from being down 3-1...I'm just being realistic.

I am not sure what mathematical equation the guy on this site used to calculate the probabilities of each team winning the series and in how many games, but I stumbled upon it by accident, and I thought it was interesting ...

Hbnyc...

I hope that's the case. It should be at least, and like I said, the added rest alone will not determine who wins the game.

Don't forget though, Montreal beat Boston. Other than the Stanley Cup what is the next best thing any Habs team can do?

Answer..... eliminate the Bruins.

I'm not saying the Canadiens are going to throw in the towel, but let's be honest here, no matter what happens this series the season will be looked at as a success for them.

You're not wrong, but it's very different. This team is playing FOR Marty. They've rallied around him, making sure that the sacrifice he's made, playing a hockey game during such a time in his life, hasn't been in vain. He gives, and they give.

Cally set the tone for how team was supposed to play, give it all, be an example. It's an effect that can wear off after a while; players get used to seeing a player practically kill themselves on the ice. It stops being inspiring, eventually.

What MSL has going here is as bittersweet as it is brilliant. He lost his mother, who was far too young. She died at 63, and Marty himself is only 38. It was so sudden, it's almost impossible for some of the more fortunate among us to imagine.

I couldn't be more proud of how this team stepped up for him. It's a testament to the quality of his character that every player on the team has begun to play their best hockey, almost as if it's for him. It's something to behold.

While MSL certainly has a long history and the skills of a leader, this is something beside, or beyond that. This situation isn't the sort of thing that lasts for years. If MSL is to become the leader of this team long term, it won't be because of the the tragedy that has fallen on him and his family.

Haha. I live in Boston and all day people have been congratulating me, and I have to explain to them that the Rangers as a franchise are capable of blowing any situation at any given time.

Bruins fans hate the Canadiens so much, it's hilarious.

With the amount of whining their coach, players, and fans do it's easy to see why. Apparently Montreal was not only missing Dominik Hasek, they were missing Wayne Gretzky in net too. The amount of excuses are just...amazing. The excuses go beyond stopping pucks. Apparently no Price meant no transition game. I assume the score would have been 10-3 with Price's amazing passes. Pretty shocking that Montreal scored 2 goals in almost 3 games against us this season with Wayne Gretzky in net.
