Fair gameReplying to old takes in this thread is frowned upon correct? Because man are there some doozies.
I really miss him and posts like thishere is what nhl draft report has to say... its actually quite positive
Scouting Report
A smothering two-way defenseman who served as the focal point of Green Bay’s defense, Lohrei is a Culver Academy product who excelled in his first full USHL season. Bound for The Ohio State University, Lohrei plays like a seasoned veteran with ice water in his veins. He is incredibly poised with the puck, but he also knows how to exploit the aggressiveness of checkers.
While most young defensemen look to get rid of the puck at the first sign of pressure, Lohrei seems quite comfortable in not only handling the puck, but luring opponents towards him for the sole purpose of drawing them out of position. He does this by maintaining a high panic threshold that allows him to delay with the puck just long enough for a subtle chip or bank pass to spring his mates in an odd-man situation.
Beating back a forecheck is more science than art, and Lohrei executes them at a doctorate level. Passing the puck with precision seems to come naturally for Lohrei, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he tied for the USHL lead among defensemen with 27 assists. On defense, Lohrei is a stopper, plain and simple. He holds firmly at the line and executes timely stick-on-puck checks, but his thick frame and strong lower body allow him to absorb the full weight of an onrushing puck carrier at top speed. He easily played over 20 minutes a game and was used in all specialteams situations.
Naturally, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound defender is not going to win any skating competitions. But Lohrei is quite mobile and uses a long, powerful stride to outpace pressure.
You know who was the master of luring them in then passing it past them.Yup, Brad ParkI really miss him and posts like this

I remember reading that Lohrei started off as a forward, any chance he converts to fill a need up front as a power forward with great hands and size. We already have Mac and Lindholm and they may want to keep Orlov. Krech will probably be gone next year. I know that this is a left field thought but I am sure I am not the only one relishing his offensive game. Odds are he stays on dee and I see him as a Thomas Chabot style deeman with a bit more of an edge.
This was a short one for him, God bless him.I really miss him and posts like this
Wow prescient and also sounds like you’re very handsome tooPeople are acting like they reached at pick 6
it’s a complete crapshoot at this point in the draft. If you believe in a guy- take him. The difference/odds of making an impact between a player picked at 58 and 80 is negligible
big kid with some puck skills. Get him in the system and watch him grow into his body, see what happens
Think he could get a couple games in at the end of the year when everyone is resting?
Nice compliment
I wonder what is a solid comp for now...

Well it depends on the contract he signs.
The most likely outcome is they sign him to an ATO for this season, and then a contract starting next year. If that is what happens then there is no way he plays a game in Boston.
If they give him an entry level contract that starts immediately, then they might
Why the need to get him games in Boston this year and burn a year of his ELC? Bad asset management. Why bother with an ATO? Just give him a contract and let him play 3-4 games in Providence and a couple in Boston at year end. Will at least give him an idea of what he
needs to prepare for.
The Big 10 and NCAA Tourney are for all intents and purposes between the ECHL and AHL. So he has already faced two years of "minor league" hockey.

I can't be the only one who sees this resemblance, and I'd put him in for Zboril right now.
