List of d-men who have a P/GP that would put them within that range based on the last 3yrs

Carlson
Hedman
Fox
Letang
Hughes

^I see 3 former Norris winners there lol. I'd agree that it's unrealistic to expect that type of production out of him. Even a guy like Krug who was a big point producer on the backend never cracked 60pts with this team. He came close a few times but never did it. I will say though that if you take his best 3 years (2016-2019) his P/GP puts him right at 60pts. So basically Lohrei would need to be prime Boston Krug offensively
Yep that’s what I see in him. I think he would be a great partner for Mac.

I was thinking he might be a good guy to trade at the draft for more pressing needs but i am starting to think theres no way sweeney trades this guy. He was a massive reach in the 2nd round, so sweeney must have really really liked this kid coming out and wanted to outsmart the experts so he overdrafted him. Similar to senyshyn or frederic or beecher. Finally he hit. This kid actually looks like he should have been a first round pick. Sweeney probably loves this kid. I bet lysell is more likely to be traded although id venture to guess neither will move.

You had me except for this- do you really think he thinks like this? Clearly he and his staff have their own criteria (btw, are they not considered 'draft experts' as well, or are some guys with internet blogs or pundit gigs on cable the real experts?) . Do you honestly think trying to be smarter than the guys at Redline Report or on TSN factors in at all?

You keep both and hope they develop into their potential

But if you need to trade one... you keep Lysell imo

Lohrei is considered mobile and even an elusive skater. But not fast. Very good offensive instincts but would need to iron out details on the D end/strength.... an area Cassidy is no nonsense about

absolutely needs to turn pro. many players from his draft year are already in NHL. really don't see any benefit to another year at Ohio state. get in an NHL style game and schedule by playing in the A.
There's only 25 players from that draft to play in the NHL so far and 20 of them were picked significantly ahead of Lohrei at No. 58 OA. If he's ready, great. There's no rush.

he was eligible for 2019. that was his true draft year. many more then 25 and many more who will be turning pro after this year. definitely time in my opinion to show he can convert to a pro style game. many from CHL go to AHL at 20.

Hes still learning the defensive position. This isn’t a situation you need to rush him into. We’re not hurting for LHD right now. Let him develop at his own pace. If he/org. feels he’s ready then fine but it’s not definitely time if they don’t feel that way.

The decision is up to him. The Bruins can tell him what they prefer but if he wants to go pro they’ll accept that request or vice versa.

I guess my expectations aren't as high as many here. I'm not expecting him to make the big team simply turn pro to get time in the AHL. perhaps I'm pessimistic I simply think most high quality prospects from 2019 are in a pro style game by next year. guys like mcavoy, Carlo, Lauzon, zboril etc were pro by this age.

19 NHL Teams have played draftees from the '20 draft, including 1D drafted in the 5th round and 2F in the 7th, all younger than him.
I'm not saying he should be playing in Boston, but he should be signing and preparing for the AHL next year where he will be turning 22. No problem having this kid play two seasons in the AHL.

For a harvard guy? Absolutely

Everyone has their own develop paths. My point is that maybe playing against AHL competition right now wouldn’t benefit him. Staying in college one more year then turning pro might be the way to go.

We’ll find out eventually what the plan is. We saw JFK turn pro and that may not have actually been the best route for him.

They have Lindhold there now. Plus all of Gryz, Forbort and Reilly for two more years. I think you tee him up to take one of those guys' spots at the right time. That probably means one more year of college and one year in the AHL On a three-year ELC that would give the Bruins two years with him at minimal cost.

NCAA hockey is filled with ECHL level players. Rather this kid play in the AHL and learn the Boston system and pro life for 2 years
when he will be 22\23.

It's the Ned Braden Effect compounded by Harvard.

I don't think that's right. If he signs his ELC as 22yrs old then it can only be for 2yrs. That would give you one year in the AHL and one in the NHL. If he signs this year then he can do a 3yr ELC.

Well what do you think he will be like as a Bruin?

If he hits his potential, I could see him as the Bruins top producer from the backend. I don't know that he'll be a 60-85pt guy though considering Krug never was able to do it with a PRIME Bruins team. Could he? sure anything is possible, but I'm not expecting this kid to come in and put up Norris level offensive numbers. I'd be happy if he gave us around 50pts a year.
