I get being frustrated but be frustrated at the right player(s).

Nylander's done his job after his Game 2 turnover debacle and started playing guilty, which is a lot more than you can say about the other two.

This couldn't be further from the truth. He's not getting his chances tonight (and only tonight) because the line itself has had no ability to sustain any pressure and the few times they have he wasn't the trigger man for whatever reason.

Maybe I have homer glasses on but I feel like this has been a pretty even game so far. If the leafs are really the better team they need to prove it right now. Result of this, unless Florida fluke, should be a good indicator of whether this team is even remotely a contender.

Biz on the US broadcast is 100% spot on. Most of the team's stars aren't showing up tonight other than Willy.

Best thing for the third is it literally doesn't matter how awful they were for the first 40. Just need to bring it.

If Matthews comes out and has one of the best periods of his playoffs the Leafs win this game handily

So basically, Marner is who he is. He plays great in the regular season, cause the great stats will be great at negotiation time, but playoff comes around and his effort level is nonexistent. Is he playing for the jersey, or just the name on the back? Gotta wonder.

Don't agree, sort of. I just think he does not know how to elevate his game. Everyone around him has upped the compete level for every inch of ice. He either does not, does not know how or simply can't.

I believe he cares, maybe so much that he paralyzes himself mentally.

Number one, he need to simplify his plays, make the plays that are there and build off that positivity. The cutesy shit has to go. The fact he clearly hasn't learned that lesson, tells me he never will.

At 5v5 sure. On the penalty kill the Leafs play 3 on the line with one defenseman (Holl) and one F (Jarny?) playing close to the wall.

McCabes job is to be on the other side of the line and stop any passes through the middle like that, or be ready to face a 1 on 1. That play is 100% on him, but also it was good on Florida exposing McCabe not being where he was supposed to be.

Blaming Holl for the goal besides being on the ice is asinine. Even the PK coach deserves more blame.

So they replayed it from the cam from high up behind both nets.. 1-3 or 3-1 PK units need to form shield at mid ice until the puck approaches their blue, then they punch out. Holl was cheating the game, playing on the boards which allowed tha gap to be exploited. I wasn't sure if I saw what i thought I saw but turns out I did... you called me asinine. I will admit if wrong but there is absolutely shared blame and in fact, probably a greater share of the blame on Holl as McCabe would expect him to be a least in line with the dot ... pitiful from Holl. Pitiful..

It’s not frustration with him, it’s hoping he can will them out of this. Placing the expectations of the core 4 all on him because he’s looking like the only one capable of doing it

Matthews and Marner aren’t doing it. Tavares isn’t even visible

Tavares may as well be a cardboard cut out. Anything positive you get out of him is just a bonus.

As someone who watched every game of Holl’s very average college career I have to say I’m absolutely shocked he made it to the league and very not shocked that he’s a liability.
