MSL was absolutely awful. Nash was bad as usual, with a few good moves though. Stepan completely invisible. Henrik had his best game in the PO. Staal was good. PP was horrendous . Let's get two games at home now!!! LGR

Agree with this post. There were more people bad than just those three guys on the offensive side of the game, but those are the ones that need to get it going.

I really think it all stems to the fact that Rick Nash is NOT a LWer. What a surprise that he hasn't scored a goal yet.

If Kreider can skate how he can skate, pass, and flub shots on net, it's time to plug him in and get those fresh legs on the ice. Take out DD, and put Carcillo on the fourth line.

Kreider - Stepan - MSL
Hagelin - Richards - Nash
Other two lines

Why didn't the penguins just lie down like they were supposed to? That was really unfair!

"one of the best teams in the league" and they brought it last night.

Pens knew they couldn't have a repeat of game one and came out hitting everything in sight, and they were a little over zealous at first and took some penalties. If the Rangers had taken advantage of that and scored a goal or 2, they change the whole game because the pens would have been more tentative. But instead they turned it up and put us off our game.

Pens hit us last night more than any single game against the flyers, and yes we are tired and hits (giving and getting) takes more out of a player than even skating. Bylsma is no fool.

Expect more of the same tonight, and it's a good thing we got Game 1 because wed may be our best chance for win #2.

Rangers will have to weather a storm tonight and focus on NOT getting blown out. It will be tough. Our guys are gassed. How many minutes did Girardi have last night?

We have to get a win in NY but I don't know if it will be tonight.

I'd like to see Diaz on the PP.

Rangers are reaping the benefits of letting the Flyers take them to 7 games.

What time did they arrive back in NY? 2 am? 3?

Expect a royal dung fest tonight.

Cyndi scores eleventy goals while Nash "Has a really good shift"...

It’s a rebuild.
shhhhhh....

you guys (mouse's voice). It's not even 7:00 AM EST. Quit your grumbling will ya'?

due to the NHL's agenda, the boys are playing a lot of hockey, and they are tired.

last night's 3 hour flight on the private jet was tough on them

your inter web voices are so loud that they are reaching their penthouse apartments

let them get their rest for the game, and the PP will solve itself...

Lack of effort? Its fatigue. Pittsburgh started finishing every check last night on the Rangers D. How many times did Neal hit Staal? Clean hits. No fly-byes. Finish checks. Even AV made the comment to Brian Engblom about the team being as fresh as it can be. 6 games in 9 nights. The Rangers got out to the 2-0 lead in the game one and were able to get the victory in the first game. Pittsburgh looked lost in the first period of game one. Its hard to believe the Rangers have another game tonight.

For all of those that wish to giVe credit to the opponent, I would like to point out the amount of interference and obstruction that team gets away with is ridiculous! It's kind of hard to forecheck and make plays when you're constantly being picked off and held. Physical and mental Fatigue will definitely factor in to that!

Yeah--I would say there's a lot of that. It's why they had an off day on Saturday.

Anyway not the biggest fan of JR but Roencik pointed out specific things about our power play and about Rick Nash that I think are pretty much on the mark. The Rangers are not supporting each other enough to get the puck back on dump ins, not getting enough shots, forcing plays--to be honest the pwp is pretty much stuck on the perimeters. Which is Nash's problem. Rangers are not getting the dirty goals.

A lot of the goals they have got in the playoffs are more about opportunism. I think they're going to have to start paying the price more if they want to stick around.

I'd get Diaz and JT in there tonight just for the sake of having some fresh legs and a shot from the point on the PP. Scratch Dorsett and Moore.

Team looked fatigued last night - hopefully Pittsburgh is a bit fatigued tonight, too.

Moore was there best defenseman last game.

I don't really get the dorsett hate either. He bumped Kunitz and Kunitz flopped. Big deal.

The only thing they need to do is figure out how to score on the PP. They score on half of them and they win this game.

Hank played as well as he has all season last night. Score could have been much worse.

Our D looks gassed. Mac is definitely not 100%. Looks a step slower than normal. Staal played okay, but looked tired.

The problem is the same as its been all season, WE CAN'T PUT THE PUCK IN THE NET ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. I'm not sure what it is, but this team can't finish. Maybe its our players or the system but it has been this way all season and I don't expect it to change for the playoffs.

So, until some changes are made, this is who we are.

Also, give some credit to the Pens. They played much harder than game 1. From my perspective, we should leave that game feeling okay that we were in it until late in the third considering how awful we played.

There's a lot of truth to this. The league has gone back to aloowing this apparently. It's been going on all over. Lots of holding last night.

The problem is that even when we get a call we don't make the opponent pay for with a PP goal.

Exactly! Their first goal came as a direct result of a Malkin pick play in ****sburgh's end!

I don't "hate" either of them. I think the team needs fresh legs and Dorsett took a really, really, REALLY stupid penalty at a really bad time.

Want to scratch Carcillo instead? I can't think of which of the other 5D you'd scratch to get a look at Diaz, either.

Yea. It's the NHL playoffs. This happens every year. Maybe instead of always being on the losing end of it and whining about it the Rangers should build a team and gameplan that can take advantage of it. Just a thought. Even everyone's favorite "skill" model the DRW were masters at this.

Another post-season, the same story: even a partially competent powerplay would make the Rangers a completely different team. Truly pathetic. The time honored tradition of big name guys putting on a Rangers jersey and disappearing in spring continues.

Moore looked like the freshest of all the D anyway. I think it's just making a change to make a change.

If you take out anyone it has to be Klein.

I'm just not sure if Miller playing 8 minutes on the 4th line is going to accomplish anything. If the game is close he won't even play in the 3rd

Again, I don't care that we lost. A split is fine in Pittsburgh. It's the ****ing lack of effort. It's infuriating.

i would NOT call that game a lack of effort. Rangers had some decent chances in the 1st... Nash with that deke between three defenders was pretty solid... it was the 3 "power plays" that killed everything.

Moore needs to be scratched and Diaz needs to be dropped into the lineup... Moore's brought nothing to the table come playoff time.

I cant buy into using the schedule as a crutch. The Penguins handed the Rangers a golden opportunity in the first 10 minutes of last nights game and the PP **** the bed once again.

You can polish a turd all you'd like with the prettier puck possession style, but the core problems remains....outside of goaltender, the Rangers dont have the personnel to match up with the best teams in the league.

If Moore needs to be scratched because he's brought nothing, they need to scratch the other 5 D too. Because they were far worse last night

Rangers were 2-1-1 against the pens in the regular season. And are 1-1 in the playoffs against them. Id say they matchup fine

Despite the terrible PP and the schedule that I still can not believe, we will find a way to win this series. They have been good on back to back nights. If they don't come out flying tomorrow night, then i'll believe the schedule has something to do with it.

The scheduling is bad but I feel like people are using it as a copout.

The Rangers were completely outplayed in this game. I don't put that on the scheduling, but the Rangers.

They lost the game, but they did get a split, so that's good. Lets see what happens tonight, but I can't say that I have been very confident in the Rangers at any point of this series. I feel like the Penguins are just a better team, but we'll see. Hope I'm wrong.

Rangers were 2-1-1 against the pens in the regular season. And are 1-1 in the playoffs against them. Id say they matchup fine

And Detroit won the season series vs. Boston, St. Louis won the season series vs. Chicago, etc.

That's the regular season. I still think Pittsburgh is a bad matchup for the Rangers.
