I'd definitely throw the best line in the AHL together to see if they can do it at the NHL level. Could have three 50 point guys making $1MM each. Going to need that desperately if all of the current contracts are retained.

DL seems high on Vey from his comments. Believes he is an NHL player.

Not everyone needs to be good at not scoring but being able to backcheck.

How often do you watch Hickey play?

The Kings didn't need to choose one or the other. Muzzin isn't a puck mover/offensive defenseman. He's a stay-at-home, plodder with a good wrist shot. Hickey is a puck mover with a high IQ.

That's what Happened though, both were waiver eligible and the Kings had to pick Muzzin or Hickey.....Lombardi chose Muzzin to stay up.

Hickey was lost to waivers.

One period.where he faced pretty easy shots.I known it's crazy but our defense was pretty good the third period.he's given up 16 goals in 3 games. Is that quick like ? Do you even remember Terry Murray times how badly we were getting dominated and quick kept us in the game.

It's absolute horse crap if you think hes not been bad just because it's a flukey shot or a deflection doesn't mean it automatically beats the goalie. No goalies always make tough saves and he hasnt.

And you know why it's probably because brown has been running him non stop and he's getting no calls. Quick is pissed off and the sharks have gotten into his head with all that contact.

He hasn't been bad. You can call it horse crap all you like because you've been riding on the guy all year, but you can't tell me with a straight face this team is playing great defense right now because it's doing anything but.

You don't allow 40 shots if you're the Kings especially to a team like the Sharks. The times the Kings beat the Sharks? They held them to season lows in shots. They made sure their offense had as little opportunity to score as possible.

If you're going to fault Quick for every single goal that gets past him, I don't know what to tell you. Jones isn't going to shut out every team he faces.

I don't agree with having 3 rookies on the second line, but speaking of smoking things, didn't you propose that Richards should be named captain for next season?

Technically speaking, Toffoli is no longer a rookie. On top of that, we would still have a solid third line to match up with the opposition.

What are our other options at center? Paul Stastny or Derek Roy? Olli Jokinen? Let's say it is Jeff Carter.

Gaborik - Kopitar - Toffoli
Pearson - Carter - Williams
King - Richards - Brown
Clifford - Stoll - Lewis

We can take it a step further and replace Clifford and Nolan and maybe even King with younger guys that want to step up to play.

Yeah I proposed either Richie or Kopitar.

I don't really care who's captain next year as long as derp Brown is traded.

Haha the shots were 23-8 in the third period.....Quick is the only reason the game went to OT.

But this series Quick has played poorly overall.

You can't give up that many Goals and say "Well the defense is bad".

Quick would be the first guy to tell you, " I played poorly"

I know our defense is bad, but so has quick.they've both been bad and it's obvious.

I'm only being hard on him because I've seen him great , and I've seen him bad.and right now, he's bad.

He has been bad. It happens.

Pat Roy Statue of Liberty goal against the Wings.

Great players have bad outings. We all love the guy. He's been awful though. Regardless of shot totals, you've felt like any shot this series could go in no matter where it was taken from.

He is way off his game right now.

Just a lot of confirmation bias in this thread right now. People that didn't like Quick's style and are still butt hurt about trading Bernier love to feast on any game in which goals are given up without actually analyzing the goals given up.

Exactly Roy and Hasek both, have had stinkers, those two are considered two of the best in the Bizz.

But it worked. It also seems to work for Boston an despite being able to skate circles around everyone, the Sharks are still cupless so it hasn't exactly worked yet.

Boston hasn't won anything since 2011, when they had decent mobility on the blueline. Chicago skated circles around us and Boston on the way to the Cup last year. Their blueline is also vastly more nimble than ours. San Jose passes teams to death. We're just so slow on the back end that they pass AND skate around us.

After how golden Stastny has been for the avs, there is no way the kings can get him.

I never really cared about Bernier. Nice try.

Nobody has mentioned Bernier!

Crawford just pitched a shutout and the Hawks just sat back and got fired on.

Quick has been hung out to dry a few times, yes, but he's also given up bad goals during this series.

If he hasn't been bad, then he has been painfully average. Painfully average isn't going to win you games under Sutter. You need to be Belfour, Kipper or Quick at the top of your game to win with him.

The only player who's slow on defense for Boston is Chara...think about it...the second slowest is Johnny Boychuk.

Plus the NHL changed or should I say told the refs to enforce interference and obstruction more after the 2012 season which has really neutered guys like Greene and RR.

How many times have we seen Greene get called for the same penalty when he hit guys who chipped the puck past him and tried to chase. The first game back from the lockout he was called multiple times for it against Chicago.

Name the goals.

Brown dives, hits and falls all over...Reckless Abandon!! It worked, at one time. Glaring difference in his game now, whatever he's doing is best for left overs. It's the same move over and over, usually resulting in a ballerina dance across the ice at his own cost.

Don't even get me started on Richards.

Brown and Richards play has declined so much in the past couple years it's baffling.

Kopi line and Gabby looked good. Carter was there. Pearson and Toffoli looked solid as did King and Nolan. Stoll was a beast out there. Quick played solid. I blame this on Richards and Brown..dismal performance when it mattered once again. Go Kings!!

Hickey was lost to waivers.

I remember. I think Hickey should have gotten a real shot at the NHL BEFORE it came to that decision.

It's not even that, They are just slow period....

You can't give NHL forwards the blue-line or half the freaking rink when they are coming down with speed.

It has nothing to do with the NHL changing BLAH BLAH refs.

These guys are just slow and older.....THATS IT.

Mitchell/Greene Are older and slower.....That's the difference for those guys.

RR has always been a below average defender.

Why do you give Richards a free pass but hate Brown so much?

They were both garbage this season and are nearing 30, it's likely all down hill for both.

Because derp Brown is a glorified 3rd liner and only earned the letter C because of his tenure with the Kings, not because of his intelligence.

Richie actually has ability to play in more game situations and is a solid 2C when healthy. Richie had a medical issue this season and it weakened him and it's affected his game. DL knows this and I'm sure Richie will regain strength this offseason since it'll be a long one.

What medical issue?
