in addition to the nice assist he had, he mixed it up after the whistle, thought he was going to drop the gloves there. Has had a couple chances so far today.

If he either starts finishing on a fraction more of his shots or his teammates start finishing on a fraction more of the plays he creates, his production is going to explode.

7 points in 7gp with Sochi, FYI

his release is quick but its pretty basic compared to a lot of modern shooters who load up with toe drags to change the angle and bigger goalies with more experience can read it easier. hes gotta manipulate the goalie more but he'll figure it out. hes the best playmaker on the ice every game hands down so if he can get his shot up to NHL level I think he'll be a super star

His scoring to me is the least interesting thing about Michkov, simply b/c it's apparent he's going to be an elite offensive player. It would be more surprising if he didn't score.

What I find more intriguing is what kind of player will he become in three years, will he add speed, fill out his frame, improve his defense, become a dominant two way player or just an offensive specialist?

Unfortunately, I don't know how much we'll be able to see how he develops until he comes over.

It is not absurd to say that in draft+1?

he has a legit claim given how he finished last season and started this one to being the best Russian player ever at this age.

Ovechkin and Fetisov are really the only ones with an obvious claim to being better at same age given context, league scoring etc.

And they are the best two Russian players ever... Malkin, Makarov and Kharlamov, who arguably round out the top five Russian skaters ever? All a slight step below at same age... though a year on were at that level.

All league records minimum 10 games:

Highest DY KHL PPG ever
Highest DY VHL PPG ever
Highest D-1 KHL PPG ever
Highest D-1 MHL PPG ever
Highest D-2 WJC18 PPG ever
Highest D-2 MHL PPG ever

At this point, it would be unusual if he didn't set the D+1 KHL PPG record.
