SKA had 4 top6 players in the game, and 2 of them were Michkov and Demidov who almost sure won't play top6 roles in the regular. They didn't have Khusnutdinov, Nikishin, Khairulin (one of the best KHL wingers), Leipsic, Zykov, Glotov who will probably play 1C with Gritsyuk and Tolchinsky.

I wouldn't mind to see Zykov - Michkov - Demidov as a 3rd line. Zykov is a very good 3rd liner by KHL standarts. Big, physical, solid defensively, and he can score.

Overall I'd say Michkov looks solid as a center. Needs more experience, but he can play the position.

amazing, he looked really good today. he was less effective in the 3rd third period but they were keying on him pretty tight and he still managed a couple dangerous plays. theres times he gets bumped around a bit but he'll get stronger. he wasnt awful at draws either but thats where getting stronger overall will help because hes 100% willing to battleand understands how to use his body to get between the puck

And just remember, even if Torts isn't coach anymore, bet on Lappy taking his place with the same lame-as-shit mindset.

I think for me, I don't hate Briere and Jones (it's purely wait and see at this point), but the fact that Torts is in the fold right now as a coach and may even possibly be given a front desk position when he's done coaching scares the shit out of me for new and skilled players. Torts has too many old and biased dispositions that don't just go away and has for YEARS acted like the man yelling at clouds.

Get rid of Torts, keep Lappy in AHL or chuck him into the sun, and bring in a proper, progressive thinking coach. Someone, you know, who gives a shit about communicating with his players and wants the young players to do their thing and work through issues?
