Coaches don’t participate in that, at least it was never proven so afaic it would fall under conspiracy - they have their own biases but if there was a cap reason, it would be manage by FO
Oh, absolutely. And I'm not saying that there was, but I think it's a valid question to ask. It's pretty clear that if either or both had broken out immediately, we wouldn't have had the cap space to sign them unless we moved other people out.

To me, even if there was no attempt to keep their salaries down, it still points to poor planning on the part of management. We didn't know we would win the 2nd and 1st overall picks in successive drafts, but that doesn't mean you go out and spend all your cap space a year after announcing a rebuild.

I’m sure it was filed under let’s worry about it when it happens header. Plenty of examples when worrying (or even acting) too much about potential future scenarios was not only futile but downright detrimental.

Fortescue with the third assist as well, clean first pass up the left wing from the D zone

It's Germany, but this kid has all the offensive talent in the world. He should be dominating and is. 1G 1A 15 minutes into the tournament with multiple other chances.

The IIHF website lists the 1st goal as Hagens from Hutson and Perreault, but the telecast said it was from Hutson and Leonard, so that will probably be changed.

Not including Laf and Kakko, who was the last Rangers prospect that had as much upside as Gabe?

I haven't been following NYR prospects that long so no idea and it doesn't makes sense to compare him to #1 and #2 overall picks.
