Eichel is easily the best I've seen at this level regardless of age. What he was able to do as a Freshman was insane especially with out a ton of support around him (Rodrigues has become a pretty good player and having a senior as support helps, but he pales in comparison to the talent that these other top freshmen scorers have had.)

Junior season Gaudreau is second.

Gabe isn't doing that, but the track record of true freshmen who do work and then go on to be good (or better) NHL players is pretty rock solid.

Kariya was on another lvl.

The year after Eichel, Kyle Connor put up 35 goals and the same 71 pts in fewer games for Michigan.

Except for the 2 games to start the season, Gabe has scored at least 1 point in every game except the game against Harvard back on Nov 26th. Harvard is not a good team this year, so hopefully he can balance that ledger a bit. He has yet to score more than 3 points in a game. Could today be the day?

Yeah he had either a hit post or a disallowed goal in that game (it may have been both) and then Smith pulled a Strome on an empty net on a chance he set up.


I remember him ending up pointless in that one was practically divine intervention.
 
Absolutely horrible camera angle in this game, i cant tell who is who. Oh well i just saw Leonard take a horrible penalty.

It was uneventful but he didnt do anything to hurt the team. He made a nice pass to Smith who broke his stick in front of the net.

Havent seen every game but i doubt it was his worst period all year..

He had 3 turnovers including one in his own zone where he tried to go off the boards and out with no one within 15 feet of him. Misfired on a few other passes he makes in his sleep.

He looked like how Smith normally looks minus somehow ending up with a point or 2.

Fair enough, i must have missed some of those, hard to squint and make the guys out from the terrible camera.
