Speculation: Roster/Trade Discussion Thread

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

Chris Drury should be selling everything not bolted down to the ground. He can't really do much of anything with the numerous clauses on the Rangers. He is trying to thread the needle. Trocheck has been on the trading block since February. They played the Olympics. The deadline came and went. They played the remaining 20 plus games in the regular season. Two months of playoffs. The Cup was awarded ten days ago. The draft is two days away. Trocheck is still here. Trocheck even hired a new agent to help facilitate the process. He wants to move the process forward. He has kids. Move. Find a new home. Schools. Come on Drury.

Ottawa has traded Tkachuk and traded one of the picks for Eklund in two days. Drury would still be trying to figure out why Tkachuk wanted out.

This f***ing guy has single-handedly destroyed the franchise. The Devils made a good deal for Nemec. He didn't have a future there. Two future first round picks. Move on.

Schneider was once a top young D. His value has been diminished so much. Why? Baby Trouba. Maybe changing the coaching staff every two years was a problem.

The Rangers can make a good pick or a bad pick on Friday. It does not matter as long as Drury is in charge. The players hate and despise him. This guy was a former player. He is not a data scientist who crunches numbers and doesn't know how to relate to the professional athlete.

Liquidating everything and starting over needs to happen.

Man. Depressing but true.

Hard to watch all these other teams hire smart, modern managers while we sit here and leave the reins in the hands of a LLWS champion.

Drury could get hanged in the town square tomorrow and it wouldn’t change that we have a team full of NMCs and nothing to show from pretty much any of the 1st round picks from the rebuild. This is multi-generational failure.

Drury wants to a trade a soon to be 33 year old center(who is ideally a 2nd line center on a middling team/3rd line center on a top level team)for a package which includes a young player the Rangers can immediately insert into their lineup plus get other assets in the trade.

Teams are willing to trade first round picks. That is the currency being used. It's not because the draft is bad. Teams want picks. The teams which like their young players would rather trade a first round pick and keep the player. Free agency stinks. They will trade a pick to get a player.

So he needs to come off the player demand and get all the picks he can.

Hes not retooling this team, he’s a delusional idiot. Win the value exchange on picks and move on.

Just f***ing fire this guy already.

Please stop putting the franchise hopes and dreams on the Trocheck trade return lol. No one will actually be happy if he gets moved for a couple late 1sts. Small potatoes.

There is nobody else. Schneider has been devalued. Drury wants to hit a grand slam. String together a few singles and then hit a double. None of these other guys want to leave their precious estates. Nobody wants to play for a losing team. Both Tkachuk brothers have. been traded in the last 4 years. They didn't have the Rangers on their trade list of acceptable teams.

So all the crying is just over the Rangers not trading Trocheck and Schneider yet? You even said yesterday not to trade Lafreniere. Everyone else has an NMC. They can’t have a major sell off. It’s not possible right now. So why are we so hung up on it?

Nobody is hung up on it. This team is going nowhere. They can at least start the process of the "retool" with a Trocheck trade. Maybe even trade Gravrikov back to LA if he is going to be miserable here. Package them together?

He wrote weeks and months. It's been four months.

You all do remember that trocheck’s NTC becomes less prohibited in like a week right?
Drury hired Brisson to help facilitate the trade. Chris Johnston has already reported Trocheck is open to a trade to a couple of west coast teams. I don't believe Trocheck will get in the way of accepting a trade to a team not on his current 12 team list which is why Pat Brisson there. Trocheck didn't need to hire him. He has three seasons remaining on his contract.

I could not care less about the letters the team sends out lol. The majority of the fanbase thinks we should’ve kept Panarin. These things are done by corporations to cover their asses.

Nothing has happened that is precluding the Rangers from trading Trocheck. His trade protection lessens in a week. Gavrikov has a no-move. You of all people should know you can’t just snap your fingers and make these players disappear.

I wish Drury hired Brisson.

Schneider I understand but there’s nothing really pushing the need for a move right now.
