Best part is when he uses the data of less penalties being called to say that dirty hits and plays are going the way of the dinosaur. No sir, they just don't get called. Have you not watched a single Tampa game?

Dirty plays happen all the time and less penalties given out is not indicative of players playing a cleaner game. Dahlin gets mugged nightly and I am totally fine with him defending himself.
It's like he believes players in a split second can recognize "oh hey it's Hischier, he's not going to hit me" and make the decision not to protect themselves and the puck when these guys are getting hit in positions like this all the time.

a Rousek-Jost-Greenway line would be interesting to see...
That does not excite me at all. Were talking about a tweener 4th/3rd line with two undersized with speed and one oversized that you have to wake up when its his turn to take the ice.

Wow! Crazy this is even a discussion. How often do defenseman have to take getting creamed into the boards for going into a corner to fetch a dump in. They can't hit back?

When a person has the puck, even touches it, they are open season to get trucked. Heres the thing, that should also mean that if you have the puck then you can demolish anyone coming to try and take it. Like a running back is allowed to hit anyone coming for them. Dahlin beat him to the puck and shielded against what normally would be a hit coming, and absolutely intended to make the player pay for hitting him. Just because the player tried to p*ssy up at the last second doesn't make that interference.

Hockey needs more hitting back in it.....not less.

Erik Haula 3 x 4.5

Boom. Now you got your elite face off winning bottom 6 center who will provide more offense then Girgs+Jost+Greenway combined.

Miles Wood 4 x 4.25

Another key bottom 6 cog.

And like that the forward group is set for half a decade top to bottom.

Haula would be a great depth piece, that’s way to much for Wood’s value however. I’d rather our 4th line not have 10mil in contracts

Depends on if his contract has an out or not. That said, I do recall reading somewhere that he wants to finish his contract in Sweden before coming over.
Per the terms of the transfer agreement, first rounders can be assigned to the AHL. But 2nd rounders and later who still are under contract in Sweden and less than 24 years old must be returned to their Swedish teams. So Ostlund could be assigned to Rochester because he was picked in the first round. But it's likely a moot point, since another year in Sweden would still benefit him and is probably the way to go.

You can. I can't remember the specific rule but I am quite sure it is explicitly stated that the puck carrier is allowed to defend themselves without it being considered interference.

The Canucks approach. Giving bottom 6 guys terrible contracts.

😂 This guy's name has been all over the Sabres boards strongly for years now.

Why is he better than what Girgensons does? Miles Wood has hands of stone.

He some size and speed and being a local could have made him a nice fan favorite a few years ago but I think that ship has sailed. To answer your question, he's not better than Gus at this point.

He's signed to the Sabres. We've loaned him to his team in Sweden. We decide where he plays next year - not his club.

EDIT: At about 1:20 in this video he talks about his plans. It was always Sweden this year "maybe one more year in Sweden" then NHL.

it might technically be loaned but there is a fundamental difference. It’s a sliding contract. Savoie would be considered loaned by the same reasoning.

it be different if it was a 20 yr old contract like Ullmark who was signed but his first yr was burned in Europe.

Hell f***ing no….

Haven’t seen this posted in here yet but this tweet and the previous few in the thread are apparently from a recent Sabres STH event.

This looks like some random fan boy tweeting major Sabres updates. Why are none of our media putting this out and how does this guy have that type of access. I’m not saying it’s far fetched info, just random for a guy named Joey P.
