If big time changes aren’t made on the ice before next season…they have to be made in the front office.

He’s already been totally irresponsible in net and defense his entire tenure. Has to stop. Or be stopped.

That isn’t going to happen no matter how much you complain.

Adams is doing what the owners want which is build a team on young, cheap talent. There are no signs that ownership is putting any sort of pressure on him to make big moves to make the playoffs next season.

you should probably curb your expectations to avoid a complete letdown.

Everyone knows big changes aren't being made and that Adams isn't getting fired.

Small tweaks are likely, and all of the kids are going to keep developing and improving.

Adams' main goal is to build a long-term competitive team, not to compete for a cup next season.

The bright side of him still being around is that you will still be able to tell everyone how bad of a job he is doing every single day in every single thread in this forum, so not all will be lost.

I guess I characterize "big moves" as acquiring a legit starting goalie and/or a legit top-4 RHD. Acquiring a physical two-way FW that is completely different from the rest of the roster would be a lesser move. Any/all of those players should be added this summer.

They're fairly obvious needs and bare-basic to improve toward a playoff team in my mind. They also seem like big moves because we have yet to see that type of team-building trade under KA. Greenway and Stillman were reclamation projects added on the cheap...the minimum Golisano era type moves to say, "look we did something".

At this point the team needs more.

The Greenway and Stillman moves were both silly and we overpaid for fodder.

As accurate at this may be, how different is this state of team management from the Golisano days? You can't just draft, develop, and hope without eventually admitting that ownership or management is too cheap or inept to build a SC contender.

The Golisano objective was to make the playoffs to guarantee the post-season revenue. It wasn't about building a Cup contender. Adams specifically has never said they are trying to build a Cup contender, only for "long term success". That word - success - may have a broad range of possible meanings. Not reaching the playoffs though is pissing 3-4 million in gate down the drain on a year-to-year basis.

I would think the attendance is going to take a hit again except now the cheap tickets and easier travel will have out of town fans coming in droves.

This is what I'm afraid of - that either the intent or result ends up the same.

Which is really nice of him with NYS taxpayers giving him a billion dollars for a new gridball stadium.

Many on here wanted a legit goalie and many thought Comrie could be that. He clealry isn't but the pickings were slim.

To your point however, adding say Hathaway and Schenn have broken the bank lol? Negative. I suspect we could have both for marginally the price we paid for Greenway and Stillman alone. Would the team have better rallied around guys who can play nhl shifts and protect them? Hmmmmm

Yeah this bothers me...better players were available for around the same assets KA traded out for Greenway and Stillman. That's why it seems so "Golisano" to me - not just cheap but...pointless.

I can’t believe there are people still complaining about Stillman. He’s better than Bryson and is reason #587 down the list of the things to complain about. Keep grinding that deadline axe though.

I should be over the moon that while Buffalo needed a top-4 D-man, we instead acquired a 7th guy that is marginally better than the 2-3 other 7th or 8th guys that they iced all season. A guy that averaged 16 mins/gm for all of 32 games on one of the worst rosters in the league. Just because Stillman is better than trash (off-setting physicality with dumb penalties), doesn't mean it was worth one damn to acquire him.

What is this based on? The conspiracy theories on here are something else.

Yeah wtf is Donny doing?

Edit: Looks like Adams is making Granato play VO to boost trade value

Taking out a positive defensive player who is one of the few guys who goes to dirty areas as a healthy scratch to try and make a 4th round pick into a 3rd round pick is the sort of cutting off one's nose to spite one's face sort of f***wittery we should expect.
