When I watch how Krug has played in St Louis and now, Clifton with the Sabres, I begin to suspect it's the system and the locker room and the attitude and the organization's commitment to excellence that is the difference and not the individual talent of any given player.

You either perform and ascribe to the organization's high levels of performance or you are gone.

There are no participation awards or fourth place ribbons handed out in the Bruin's organization.
The organization and fans of this organization get mad at players that show displeasure in losing to the point, that they convince themselves with reasons that don't have anything to do with hockey, to hate guys to justify feeling okay with the organization moving on from the players.

Having high standard competitive feelings would never slide here. It's all about the vibes and wanting to be a Buffalo Sabre.

I think a lot of it is just more realistic player evaluation from different coaching staffs and then knowing what the ceilings are of their own players.

The best coaches get the most out of their players, and they do that by putting them in roles and situations that best fit their skill sets.

If your roster doesn't quite have the pieces that perfectly fit your system, you adjust your system to best fit your personnel, if possible, and if not, then you push your GM for roster changes.

You don't see great coaches trying to convert scoring wingers into 4th line defensive specialists, or PP offensive minded D into stay at home D.

Taking Joker, a point per game junior player and trying to mold him into a 22 minute a night shut-down defenseman because that is a role the organization is lacking, is an example of round peg-square hole coaching, which this organization has been doing too much of lately imo.

Tyler Myers and Risto are the poster children for the organization constantly doing what you just described. If you have a coach who is incapable of recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of his own players and using them accordingly despite being in the position for 2+ years you should probably go out and find one who can.

Skinner on the powerplay anyone?

They ice too many players who are never a danger to provide offense. The bottom six is an absolute disaster. six guys who won’t do anything. Needs to change. If that means kids…it means kids. Being afraid of mistakes when THESE GUYS MAKE MISTAKES AND DONT SCORE is stupid. Assuming rookies dont develop in the NHL too is even stupider. Especially when they refuse to get Power a partner and throw Levi into the abyss.

Play people who can make plays.

Stop f***ing around.

You kept every single player you drafted instead of using picks for help. So this is what you’ve got for help. You did that. And you need f***ing help.

Looks like Buffalo will be last in the division, 3rd last in the conference by the time thanksgiving rolls around and Ottawa plays some of their games-in-hand.

Adams can’t blame the Tage injury since they sucked well before he went down. I hope people start booing this sad roster soon. I think Donny knows his job is on the line if they lose out the rest of the month…which let’s face it is possible if not probable.

It took a 12 game losing streak to get rid of Kruger.

It’ll take something worse to get rid of Don in season. It’s not like we have a head coach in waiting somewhere.

Peters says rumor has it Kane was in Buffalo and the Sabres gave him a physical while the team was out of town.

Said it on the lastest ATW podcast

I mean....this is the kind of galaxy brain thinking that I expect to come out of the front office.

Going back to the "Hey we have a 9M left winger who struggles down the lineup, what do we do with this cap space?"

Adams: "Get another 8M left winger that can't play down the lineup"

"Hey, we need to get another goalie"

Adams: "f*** that shit" (literally four years in a row)

"We need some forwards who can play in their own end"

Adams: "RUN IT BACK WITH THE SAME GROUP (two years in a row)

Just galaxy brain thinking that Kane will solve anything but the question of "how many brad browns is Kane now?"

This is an 18 year old. Zero fear. I can't wait until he becomes a man.

I get that the defenseman didn't get involved because they were pressing for a goal at the end of the game but something just puts me off about letting your 18 year old rookie get mauled by 3 dudes.

If he gets fired it’ll be after the season. But I think the decision could be made well before that. Then again, I’m not even sure Adams cares about losing this season since he seems fine developing at a glacial pace.
