Tough times. I don't know where the team goes from here.

I feel like we all know where they go from here. After four years we know what they do. Nothing.

most of the league is in cap problems…most teams don’t have the huge pile of assets competing for the same two jobs down the line. When a team who can and should do things doesn’t…of course moves don’t happen anywhere. It’s been a buyers market for years and we refuse to go to the goddamned store.

It’s hard to think they’re really trying to be competitive. They had the internal growth angle before, at least, but that hasn’t paid off. Just tank.

Either Adams legit thinks doing nothing to help his team is the key to success and we have a big problem….

or Adams isn’t trying to be competitive and we have a big problem.

pick one I guess. I don’t think he’s stupid. So I know which one I think it is.

That’s what it seemed like from the outside.

Was curious if he was eventually seen as the odd man out later in the year. I seem to recall UPL needing waivers this year, so thought the intent was to eventually move on from Comrie and run a UPL/Levi tandem.

Seems like the more likely scenario is Levi going to the AHL for a bit.

Levi needs to go to Rochester and not get a short stint. He has so much to work on. I’d like to see him there for at least a calendar year. Maybe hope he’s ready for the 2025 portion of the 2024-25 season.

I agree. I was open to this at the start of the season and I'm not surprised he looks frazzled or sometimes chaotic. He was going to greatly depend on defensive improvements in front of him, and it just hasn't been quite enough (him or the defense). It's not the environment to break a rookie into the league. Ditch the 3-goalie thing with the easiest move possible - send him down. If KA doesn't make this fairly obvious decision in the next week or so, I can only imagine that he made some dumb promise to Levi during the signing process or that he is unnecessarily worried about hurting his morale.

I just cannot understand not calling up Kulich and sending Rousek down. Playing Krebs and Jost as your 3C/4C is asking to get beat in any game. Cozens/Mitts is a poor enough top 6 center group. Why not bring up Kulich for 3C and see if he can help?

Give Krebs a night off, he's clearly dealing with a family issue. It'd give him time to clear his head and hopefully get back to playing better.

Kulich will never be played at C in the NHL, so that's likely not really an option in the eyes of Sabres management, and I'd agree with them. He's not a center. He's only playing the position presently because they need him to fill in.

Seems like Donny is trying to get Cozens going playing on the top line.

I actually don't mind the RyJo-Power pairing but I'd probably swap Samuelsson and RyJo.

Bottom six looks ROUGH

has his own net according to Fairburn

Damn, potentially benching Joki is ballsy. Has he been bad the past few games?

I like Rousek in the bottom 6 over Olofsson and Krebs right now. If you are calling up Kulich to play wing, it's for the top 6.

At this point, there has been so much musical chairs, they just need to let guys develop some chemistry. All of this shuffling has diminishing returns.

I feel like the players want to make the playoffs and they feel this is the year they break the playoff drought for Buffalo but management is not supporting that idea and wants another year to build.

The problem with Adams is, he is sitting on way too many prospects when he should be using them to bring in a Jusse Saros and others.

I dunno. It's just our "3rd line" options that look rough to me. For Winnipeg.

We know that 28 and 21 work well with either Jost or Krebs. Hell, 28 and 21 look fine with ANYONE.........as long as they're playing more typical 4th line minutes.

Yes, the Jets game is likely to be rough if our top 6 is down Tage and Tuch and Benson.

But looking ahead to just getting Tuch and Benson back:

Skinner-Cozens-Tuch
Greenway/Benson-Mitts-JJP
Greenway/Benson-Jost-Rousek
Girgensons-Krebs-Okposo

Greenway on a line with Jost and Rousek may not score a whole lot......but they're not going to give up a whole lot either.

So yeah, tomorrow night looks rough.......but I think there's a light at the end of the tunnel (assuming the Injury Gods stop f***ing with us)

when he should be using them to bring in a Jusse Saros and others.

This isn't EA sports. We can't just make Saros magically available. Trotz doesn't HAVE to trade Saros to us just because we think we're offering a "good enough" package.

Goalies who can regularly get Vezina votes just don't move often. At all.

And as far as the "others" go........the only team that's really out of it right now is the Sharks, and they really only have one possibly available piece that even interests me personally (Sturm).

But right now, so many teams are (stupidly) trying to get into the playoffs that trading our prospects for their NHL-established guys isn't going to be a thing yet. Gotta wait until some of these teams come to their senses.

Hes getting over an illness
Wasn't he also out for a game or two with a foot injury?

At the bare minimum level, can they waive Olofsson and bring up Kulich to play in his spot? Aside from when he's scoring meaningless goals in garbage games, Vic has given a Sobotka level effort for most of the year, except for a brief stint with 28 and 21. It's not like Kulich can be a whole lot worse than him defensively and he could, I dunno, maybe help one of the two garbage PP units
