why do people keep saying send Vic to Rochester? Thats not gonna happen for a number of reasons
I really think an Olofsson for Labanc swap makes a lot of sense for both sides. San Jose gets a guy who can score goals and make them look like almost an NHL team, while not actually contributing much. Buffalo gets less offense but better defense and a guy that Donnie knows.

Labanc is actually pretty terrible defensively in his own right. Benched for long stretches on an talent starved Sharks team because of it. There was some rumblings about locker room issues in San Jose in the past as well. At least Vic fits in the room ok and doesn't seem to cause a stir with his cut playing time.

I think they'd be better off just riding this one out or waive Vic than making a move like that.

If I were GM I'd put in an offer for Kunin that is strong enough to really force Grier to consider.

The team spent years developing Ulmark and then ended up watching another team reap the rewards. Team spent years developing Casey and now that it's beginning to pay off people want to get rid of him as fast as they can so another team ends up reaping the rewards of all the hard work.
The team clearly has no plans to get rid of him so I think you can breathe easy. If you're looking for players in the doghouse, you might look at players who are losing ice time instead of gaining it.

Ullmark completely changed his game in Boston. Thanks to former Sabres goalie Bob Essensa

This roster is so far away from competing its criminal. Four off-seasons. Why should he get a fifth when he has passed on the last two?

If this team doesn't make the playoffs Adams and Granato need to go or do we give them a 5th year from the 3 year plan from 15 years ago?

This team is so boring now. We leak high danger chances against like last year, but don't score anymore.

If Thompson is out any amount of time we are missing half of our top 6 from last year.

Skinner-Mitts-Rousek?
Peterka-Cozens-Olofsson
Greenway-Krebs-Biro?
Girgensons-Jost-Okposo

Just wow. Especially with Cozens playing much worse than last year that is a bottom 5 forward group in the league. Might be time to take a break from watching for a while.

EDIT: Granato just confirmed Tage will miss significant time. I guess we have to hope Tuch gets healthy to push one of these JAGs out of the lineup.

Guys, just think of all that beautiful cap space that's going to open up in a few years when Dahlin figures out what Sam and Jack did and says "Get me out of here"! Sweet lovely cap space!!!!! Glorious wonderful cap space, sooooooooooo much better than actual NHL players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With Tage on LTIR, that's MORE cap space we'll never use!

OK. Let's look at the bright side -- there's precedence to this.

05/06 Buffalo Sabres. Started 8-9. Danny Briere hurt, misses 3 months. Season over already.

We all know what happens next.

Maybe we can have history repeat? Maybe? Possibly? PLEASE I'M BEGGING.

Not sure who this is directed against since the Sabres have a very challenging cap situation after next season, even if there are no trades.

Super glad they did next to nothing to try and push the team over the hump last year and assumed nothing would go wrong in anyone's development this year.

Looking like yet another season of playoff hopes being dashed before January
