How do we plan on giving spots to young guys next year? Skinner, Mitts, Tuch, Thompson, Cozens, Quinn, Peterka, Greenway...8 spots of your top 9. It already is going to be tough to incorporate more than 1 of Benson/Savoie/Kulich/Rosen.

I’m starting to lean towards the fact that 2 of those 4 aren’t gonna be in the system. If I had to guess, Savoie and Rosén.

Even still there's a good chance we have to break in 2 guys next year, and Benson is likely one of them. Kane makes that hard.

Especially seeing what happened to Backstrom.

I suppose I can live with a one year deal......but anything more might be really stupid.

As a former Hawks STH, signing Kane is not a good idea. The very things most have venting about with regard working harder getting greasier etc. Is not PKane88 style.

not really, but by the amount of other people that are saying they're hearing things as well it definitely has legs.

Essentially it's Terry's problem if he goes on LTIR.

a few thoughts if it happens...

-It could help PP2, L3, leadership, etc
-Mystifying after the whole Eichel medical ordeal then they sign Kane, maybe there hip/bone doc/insurance ppl are more optimistic than neck spine ones.
-Ride Share drivers in Buffalo are against this deal...
-If it is pr driven, I don't know many in South Buffalo that can still afford to go to a Sabres game
-The Krebs thing has to be related in some way, roster spot, trade, injury, Roch ?
-Maybe they alao find a taker on Oloffson or waive him to Roch.

Still frustrates me we brought back Okposo. That signing showed a lack of seriousness about winning.

Why? He would be fine on the 4th line playing ~ 10 min when they need a cycle or on the PK2.

A Pat Kane signing would be such a vintage Sabres move. I thought and hoped the organization was past such shallow stunts. I'm going to cling to that hope for a while longer.

Not sure they're very comparable. Jack had 7 more years on a $10M deal, so our interest in his physical future was much greater than a half year or two of Kane at $3M.

with what is going down with Backstrom (semi retirement) it seems like pretty big risk, of course we all know there are other reasons the Eichel thing went down. Vegas took the medical risk and won the cup.

I'm wondering if it'll have the opposite effect. We're finally getting defensive buy-in from Tage and others.....our defense is the best it's been in the rebuild........................and all of a sudden we're paying for an injured, all-offense, no-defense winger.

And I've never gotten the sense that Kane is some fantastic leader in the locker room either.

If Kane is right, this could go very well.

But this also has the potential to go very, very, very wrong.

if it blocks a offer to Mitts finacially then it's really dumb (are best player so by far this season).
