People give skinner too much credit when he’s producing and give him too much blame when he’s not. He’s not that impactful on his own, never has been. He’s a first line complimentary forward.
He has slowed considerably. That usually doesn’t reverse itself at this stage of a career.
No issue with having 7/8/9/10 guys who can handle 10-12 minutes a night. The issue with them is when they are pulling in 20-22 as happened with Bryson last year in the injury phase.

And overestimating what Jeff skinner brings to a lineup doesn’t reverse itself at this stage of a career either.

When Skinner is dialed in and producing, he's very much impactful on his own. He creates offense for himself and his linemates, and he's often a catalyst for PP opportunities as he draws penalties. It's actually a very easy to tell when Skinner is on and when he's not, much more than anybody on the team. The problem is that he's too inconsistent with that, and it's such a stark difference between the Two Tales of Jeff.

We want to add to the roster. Not trade 7 years for 2 just because you can’t remember that Dahlin was total shit everywhere but the assist column until year 5. Power is stuck with Joker and less for two years in impossible minutes and we should totally assume he’s gotta go instead of being supported by his organization. God knows it’s never blown up in our f***ing faces repeatedly.

As soon as Power figures out he needs to be more physical and thus fills out his 6’6 frame, he’ll be everything we want him to be. His flaws derive from his tentative playing style and not much else.

Hoping/wishing Power will become this physical force will only lead to disappointment. Yes, his frame will eventually fill out. But I don't think he has the disposition or the desire to become this physical-style defenseman.
If Power "maxes" out, he'll be a steady-eddie type in his own zone -- but from a positionally-sound style. He's never going to be the guy who will clear out the net or crunch guys along the boards.
He needs to learn how to use his body to better shield the puck and better direct guys away from the next.
Power's ceiling is, and has always been, a guy with elite transition skills who is sound in his own end.
