If there was on UFA that I was looking to overpay to get, it would be Chandler Stephenson. If we could trade and extend at the deadline even better.

Trenin is worth a look as well…not sure I would want to over pay for him though.

Interesting takes on Peterka. I thought he had hit a wall. I honestly haven't been following the team enough this season. Glad he's doing well, and I'll take your guys opinions over mine as I'm not as in tuned as most of you.

He was absent from a lot of offensive play for about a month, then Quinn came back and the kids had a few good offensive games. Some that drove me mad too. :biglaugh:

CS isn’t an option for Buffalo since he’ll literally be able to go to any team in the league that he wants to. He writes his own ticket and the destination isn’t WNY.

We should be open to trading him for the right deal. I don’t really buy this unicorn stuff though. I do think he’s going to be a top 6 player..

Trenin, Carrier, Duhaime all come as guys with younger legs who are apt to play a pro game. It would be cool if they put an emphasis on having some guys who can PK and provide team-wide energy into their depth folks instead of more people who are small or who play small.

Yeah, I'm not averse to using anyone in trade to get better among actual NHL players. They should be done with constantly spinning off players they've molded into just futures.

I get that CS will have plenty of options, but if we were to enter the bidding I would be ok with overpaying. We also have the ability to put plenty of scoring options with him. I know fantasy, but I would like for once to get a guy like him. I think he is exactly what we need.

Peterka is not the guy you trade. We did the hard work in developing him already.

Savoie, Kulich, Rosen, Ostlund are the chips you consider moving for help elsewhere.

Quinn, Peterka, and Benson are the guys you pencil in as top 6 wingers for this team long term.

We have to overpay and outbid other teams for even UFA scraps. CS solves a lot of problems for a lot of teams; I def agree that he’d be a game changer in Buffalo too.

He's gone from being one of the better shot and expected goal generating players to basically NHL bog standard.

What's our outlook for Tage? I was thinking franchise center last year, but haven't followed closely enough this season to give an honest answer.

Are the dumb plays becoming more rare? I see the graphs, but does the eye test match the graphs in regards to defense?

He's one of the more interesting cases to me. I have no idea what he'll become in say 2 years when he's had a ton of experience at C.

I'm not too worried. You don't put up 47+47 by accident. He might not repeat those heights but it would be surprising to me if he doesn't settle in at minimum as a PPG player.

Throw whatever at columbus to get jenner, guys a total gamer, also looks like a hard ass. thats what this team needs in the locker room

I'll happily sacrifice 10 pts a year if he's a better two way player because of it.

I'd say Benson and Östlund are in a group of their own on that list.
Östlund has fully recovered after his concussion and he's a monster. 2-3 years from now he could be our most complete center, I just hope we don't rush him.

The thing is that he's and his linemates aren't generating the shots like they did last year is troublesome. Teams are clearly scheming to control him and his wrist injury didn't help him any either. He's trying to force a lot of things which isn't helping.

He’s Jeff Skinner of the center position. At times he’ll be dangerous and get his chances and produce. But overall, his game lacks a complete game that is just at the level to aggravate you that you wish he was more. He’ll be fun and score a flashy goal to showcase his skills, but when you peel back at the end of the night, you’re wondering how crucial was he actually to the game.

Buying out Clifton after yr 1 on a 3yr deal is a good way to entice UFA's to sign here
