Jost trash

Krebs trash

Okposo needs to go

Greenway needs to go.

VO needs to go.

Girgs and Robinson should be upgraded on.

Power should be traded for a legit top 4 veteran Dman.

Listen on any player not named Benson, Quinn, Dahlin.

Hire Gallant with interim Assistants James Patrick and Jay McKee

Move Kevyn Adams up to President of Hockey Ops.

I don't have a GM replacement in mind right now.

Adams will probably be safe this year.

That probably means that Greenway is back.

In other words, basically our FULL lineup outside of Skinner. If they continue to flounder while at near 100% health, heads absolutely need to roll in the management levels. Coaching is already cooked and we know it's not good enough to help this roster any further.

For me, the Dahlin as the next captain campaign took a big hit last night when he ducked out and did not talk to the media after the game.
Agreed ... he's got some work to do to rebuild his leadership image. I'm proud of Tage, Mitts, Tuch for sticking around. Mitts sounds like he has some natural leadership out of this group. Of course he's the one that is unsigned beyond this year and likely to either be traded or here shorter term.

What makes you think Pegula will fire anyone in management?

I think if you want to affect real change this summer:

1. Skinner buyout. Or if a team will take him at 50% retained and he'd be willing to go there, I'd do that too. He's not part of the solution and never was.
2. Decide on UPL or Levi. If its UPL, Levi can get more time in the minors. Get a veteran 1B to start 30-40 games.
3. Find a partner for Power. The UFA for RH defensive oriented d-men is deep this year. Dumba, Pesce, Matt Roy, Tanev, Walker. I think it's OK to take a loss on Clifton.
4. You want to add two veteran forwards to the top 9, one at center. They don't have to be super stars....they do need to be hard workers who can help mentor our young group and can play in their own zone. A complete revamp of the 4th line is needed as well.

I mean, aside from the Skinner buyout, these are things we should have last year.

Combine those moves with an entire coaching staff purge and some front office changes, , you probably are setting the team up for growth. Playoffs should be the expectation and anything less would lead to more changes among the group.

The only thing I'd probably consider in season is IF you could get Lindholm to sign a Horvat style (8x8.5) contract, after a trade, that would be one way to kick things off. I think, realistically, its probably too late to save the season, but, adding a legit two way #1B center to complement Thompson and mentor Cozens would be a great start. However, I doubt that Lindholm wants to go from a meh situation in Calgary to the endless playoff drought team.

(IMO) Lindholm is going to Boston to replace Bergeron. If we could somehow get in front of that, it'd be a power move and keep a rival from getting a player that just fits perfectly on their roster.

Im honestly surprised at amount of damage the team has done to its public image. It's going to be a LONG time before the fanbase gives this core the benefit of the doubt, and starts going to games again.

We're stuck with this core for the foreseeable future. The fans are not going to give them any respect until hey deserve, but here is what we have:

1) a team that completely mailed it in for the first 20 games of the season, and put themselves in an unlikely spot to compete for the playoffs.
2) a team that consistently get whooped at home. Great way to get the fans back.
3) highly paid players severly under performing. Dahlin has really been ticking me off with his nonchalant effort in the d zone. Paid like an elite defenseman, and has mailed it in multiple times this year. Cozens, Tage, and Tuch...wtf guys?! Half ass efforts in the D zone. Great. Power..eh..he's incredibly green.

Yeah. The fans aren't giving these guys a pass. More boo birds; less fans. I really, really dislike this team at the moment.

Bottom dwellers/underachievers who might be in the mood to trade:

SJ: Sturm and Rutta
Anaheim: Max Jones
Chicago: Donato
Minnesota: Merrill
STL: No one really available who I'd want
Columbus: Peeke, Blankenburg, Jenner
Montreal: Xhekaj, Anderson (maybe), Gallagher
Ottawa: I'd give a lot for Tkachuk

I'd still take a look at Parayko.

You also omitted Calgary - I think a Weegar/Coleman package would move mountains for this team's compete/physicality.

I had this hunch the forwards were going to line up this exact way.

Go back to what works. We know the top line works. We know the kid line works....sometimes. Benson-Mitts-Greenway was our best line at the start of the season.

Go back to what works.

I’m not sure thats something you can say for this season.

They were a complete no show to start the season. They’ve all struggled with their overall games and injuries. It’s a big reason for the line blender we’ve seen all season.

Instead of being the one line we could consistently rely on, they've been a problem.

I seem to remember that the top line was together right before Tage's wrist injury and they were looking like their old selves, just snakebitten.

Not a chance Columbus is trading Jenner. Minnesota would add a 6th d before trading Merrill. Merrill sucks anyway

So that means Skinner is healthy and good to play?

I'm fine with hitting a small reset button and going with the lines shown above. It still boils down to Granato getting the team ready, on point, and the players being willing and ready to play responsible hockey. I still would rather see RyJo on the 3rd pair with either EJ/Clifton on the right, and one of them sitting. Not sure any of it matters as long they keep playing stubborn and stupid hockey as a whole. Granato has to turn practice and game time into a tough love scenario, but I doubt he has that in him.

They've actually gotten worse since the first 20 games.

First 20
9-9-2 .500 pts%

Since the first 20

4-8-1 .346 pts%

The 4 wins were all highly impressive, but it really doesn't matter if you're doing it that infrequently.
