He said he put Quinn on the line he did for CBUS to ease Quinn back in to the lineup
No, he said he liked the chemistry of the lineup and didn't want to break it up when Quinn came back.

Nice try. Go watch his pre-game presser.

Just out of curiosity, but who are the untouchable players for Buffalo?

NOBODY. Nobody should ever be untouchable

We should start trading players coming of career years that are statistical outliers. That is when we will get max value for them

Tuch is a local product who eats, sleeps, and breathes the Buffalo Sabres. A fan favorite, too, and a leader in the room. Worth more to Buffalo than anyone else.

that is a problem that the fanbase has. Too emotional toward certain players.

These players are commodities, nothing more. Never hang on to a commodity too long unless they are of the level of a Tom Brady

I think it has less to do with emotion and more to do with realizing not a lot of players are jazzed about coming to play in Buffalo. So when we get a good one that does want to come here we don't want to lose him because we probably won't be able to replace him.

If you are a small market that has historically had trouble retaining it's top players, you should think twice before trading any top players with ties to the area that want to be there.

When evaluating the guy that wants to walk in two years and comparing him to the the guy that wants to re-sign, that is a variable that should cary considerable weight.

They say the same about Green Bay but somehow they figure it out. I have been there, nice place to visit…

I guess you missed the part of the presser where Granato said this prior to the quote attributed in the tweet

Cool, literally said he didn't put Quin with JJ and Cozens because he said he liked the chemistry of JJ, Mitts and Cozens.

I posted the tweet.

Granato literally said he wants to keep JJ, Mitts and Cozens together.

Whats to argue here? Its literally right here. Are you saying this is fake? Are you calling Yerdon a liar?

Nothing you posted had anything to do with line combinations. Just take the L.

Green Bay is a well run, historic franchise with multiple championships. NFL to NHL is very oranges to apples because, for the most part, every NFL team is profitable even if they spend to the cap. In the NHL, that isn't the case.

However in the NHL, Plenty of poor weather small markets (Minnesota, Detroit, Pittsburgh) attract players.

Players don't want to come to Buffalo because we haven't made the playoffs in 12 years and the ownership doesn't want to spend any more. The Sabres are a poorly run team.

External improvement, especially on the high end, will have to come via trades.

I had this hunch the forwards were going to line up this exact way.

Go back to what works. We know the top line works. We know the kid line works....sometimes. Benson-Mitts-Greenway was our best line at the start of the season.

Go back to what works.
It won’t matter because they don't play anything like last year. The speed is gone. The zone exits are gone. They chip it out and wait for the next wave.

Your making my point. I replied to a poster who said players do not want to come to Buffalo. In fact they do not want to play for this organization. Big difference.

What I posted is the first part of his answer to the question of reuniting Quinn with Cozens and Peterka, so your tweet you keep posting does not show Granatos full answer to the question.

We should really pump the brakes on power. The kid is having a sophomore slump. Most do. He has 3 years before he becomes the D he is going to be.
It's not a slump.. its who he is and has always been.

Im still very optimistic as I believe this core is extremely talented. Extremely.

Buuuuuut I have lost all faith in this coaching staff and player leadership. Inject some winning forward leadership on this team and get the right coaches.

At this point I think this season is a lost cause. Get EJ to a playoff team looking for depth and RJ into the lineup full time.

I am glad you finally came around.

The analogy I used in another thread was it's like college athletics.

You can't expect to win with freshman playing seniors every year. There's a 4-5 year age gap.

You need veteran leadership. We need to hit the portal and bring in some guys who have won and that's all that they know. Get rid of guys who've been here. Be willing to trade a younger guy or two to get guys who can help now. We have a stable of young talent now.

He only said changing coaches, not trade some of the core cause of low IQ.
Awesome. Is that what you want to do, trade the core?

By the way. I have been right about this team, how the play and the coaches since October.
I posted exactly what is happening 2 months before most people and was criticized by the same people who are now saying fire the coach.

The irony of your post.
