Except we've atleast gotten a glimpse of the old Kopitar this year, notably the game against Edmonton. Gaborik hasn't done anything noteworthy imo.

Pretty much.

Gaborik has done nothing for the first 11 games but float on the outside, and play spotty defense( which he mentioned himself in interviews).

Sigh.

Gaborik hasn't played well to start the season. He has looked slow to get it going.

Kopitar same deal, looks like both are sort of playing themselves into shape. Which is unacceptable if you ask me.

Agreed, but Kopitar at least has FOUR goals (near 30 g pace) and ZERO assists and plus 6 while Gaborik has 1 and 1 and is -4...to put that in perspective, Trevor Lewis has 1 and 2. Hell, Brown, Pearson, and Ehrhoff are all outscoring Gaborik.

(Ehrhoff is an abysmal -7 and looks the part, though. Him and Nick Shore are in hot competition for the dumpster fire spot so far).

Ehrhoff has made costly mistakes, he has some of the worst pinches, and just mental lapses with coverage.

Staggering for a Veteran player, if ask me.

Kopitar doesn't have any assists this season thanks in part to his wingers playing like absolute garbage.

Brown has no finish, Gaborik hasn't been going to the scoring areas like he was doing when he led the playoffs in goals in 2014, he no longer has Justin Williams as an option, and whoever else is left isn't a viable option. That's why we got to see guys like Lewis skating with Kopitar, because the two highest paid wingers in Brown and Gaborik forgot how to score goals.

Last night CE kept drifting to the left side in D zone coverage, and DF had to switch to the right side. They would have been better off if they just lined up that way in the first place. Also, CE almost seems to refuse to make the simple first pass, and many times it should have been just over to DF, who made himself available. CE looked reluctant to go into the corners last night. IMO

No assists is amazing.

I agree, maybe he was still rung up from the other night because his decisions were noticeably slower and, as you mentioned, was hanging on to make an extra fancy pass instead of a simple first pass. Though these things were problems all season...either the Hawks or his head have a way of making it look worse.

-7. That sucks.

I think erhoff mostly plays with our third line and McBain on this streak, so that would explain a lot. Shore has kind of been a tire fire so far this season.

I like Pearson up with Kopitar. Allow them to try and build some chemistry. Allows for a swap with Lucic whenever things feel stale.

There is a reason he was known as Errorhoff and he signed for basically peanuts late in the offseason. Teams knew what he was. I get it the Kings were a bit desperate and took a chance, but this is the 2015 version of Moreau and Hunter, time to move on.

Pearson, sadly, has been useless this season. He seems tentative and apprehensive, probably in part to his season ending injury last season.

I figure this to be a throwaway season for him until he gets back into "hockey shape." He really can't be considered as a top six option as of this point.

Same for me, Haven't been impressed with Pearson at all. Hopefully his ceiling is a poor man's Justin Williams.

The best center on that line has been Brown, and both Kopitar and Gabby have blown multiple goal chances with clean passes from him. In the Nashville game Kopitar blew a tap in goal because he forgot to put his stick down for the pass. Guess what, maybe the wingers aren't the problem.

Ehrhoff strikes me as a guy desperately playing for his next contract to get off the 1.5 million dollar train. Seems like he's hoping that if he puts up 40 pts this year no one will notice he;'s a ****** defenseman and give him a Jeff Finger type contract.

When Regehr first got here, he kinda sucked too. I'm hoping Ehrhoff follows the same pattern and picks it up.

And I wouldn't get my hopes up of the Kings adding defense. They definitely aren't going to trade offense for it. The defense is in the top 5, the offense in the bottom half.

The longer King is out the more he's a nice trade chip. I still think King and Martinez or Greene for a top 4 dman.

King and Greene I would be OK with, but not Martinez. He's been really good this year, he's better than most top-4's out there. Value wise I would be fine with King/Martinez for a top 2-3, but I'm not sure it would be necessary at this point.

Muzzin and Martinez seem to be making it work, albeit in a small sample size.

Martinez has been kicking ass lately. Jesus, this guy has stepped up his game, big time.

Not hearing those "trade Martinez" rants from the armchair GMs here anymore. :)

I REALLY like the new top four of McNabb - Doughty /// Muzzin - Martinez and really don't want to disrupt that. We could roll this for years to come.

I'm curious to see a Forbort - McBain 3rd pairing.

WTF

Dustin Brown could become an all time great in number of shots without a goal. I believe he is already top 30 all time this season.
